Goofs

Continuity: The wood microwave is set for 5 minutes, but the bell rings (signaling the end of the cycle) within 3 minutes.
Continuity: When Damon asks Mindy what she wants for her birthday, she puts the spoon from her sundae into the bowl. In the next shot, it's back in her hand.
Continuity: When the teens are comparing Kick-Ass and Red Mist in the comic store, it is raining outside. When Katie and David go outside, the sky is clear and the streets have no signs of recent rain.
FAIR: Red Mist operates an iPhone while wearing gloves. Many gloves have static tips on the fingers, allowing use of static-based touch-screen devices, including the iPhone.
GEOG: When David and his parents are at the breakfast table, a carton of Clover-Stornetta milk is on the table. The film is set in New York; that brand is only sold in parts of California.
Revealing mistakes: In close-ups, none of the vehicles have inspection stickers.
Continuity: When Dave rubs self-tanning lotion on Katie, they're both in their underwear. Dave has no scars, despite surviving numerous operations involving metal plates and rods.
GEOG: At the end, a view from a Brooklyn rooftop shows the sun rising over Manhattan. The sun rises in the east, so it would never rise over Manhattan from that perspective.
CHAR: When Kick-Ass leaves home to meet with Red Mist for the first time, he leaves his front door wide open. In the previous scene, his father had left for work.
Revealing mistakes: When Kick-Ass meets Red Mist in the car park, the car's logo from the windscreen is reflected directly onto Kick-Ass's chest, as if a light was shining at the front of the car. The only light is coming from lamp posts high above.
Revealing mistakes: When Dave uses his MacBook, the Apple logo isn't lit up, even thought the computer is supposed to be switched on and in use.
FAIR: When Frank D'Amico is interrupted by a telephone call, he is training on a Jong (wooden dummy), which is used primarily in Chinese martial arts. He's also wearing a karate Gi, which is used in Japanese martial arts. Many martial artists cross-train between arts. Studying karate wouldn't prevent him from using a Jong for striking.
CHAR: SPOILER: After Dave is hit by the car, just after the car thief stabs him, the scene cuts to Dave in an ambulance. The paramedic puts a neck brace on Dave after he is on the stretcher. Patients with suspected neck injuries are supposed to be fitted with a neck brace before they are loaded onto a stretcher.
FAIR: Kick-Ass orders a plain green wet suit online, but it arrives with yellow trim. Like other clothing sold online, the picture shows one example of the style. On the ordering page, Green/Yellow Trim is indicated under "Select Style."
Continuity: When Hit-Girl breaks into Frank d'Amico's apartment, the computer screen on Frank's desk disappears when he and Red Mist are waiting in the office. The screen reappears in following scenes.
Continuity: When Hit-Girl throws two knives at the gangster, they are an inch or two apart. When the gangster falls, the knives are much farther apart.
Continuity: When Dave goes to meet Red Mist one more time, he rides his bike toward the sunrise. His shadow is on his left. If he rides toward the sun, his shadow should be directly behind him.
BOOM: When Kick-Ass and Red Mist meet Big Daddy and Hit-Girl at the safe house, the boom mic is visible when they're standing in the door, at the top of the screen.
Continuity: When Marcus reads the comic explaining the rise of Big Daddy and Hit-Girl, the final pictures of the cartoon do not match those in the comic book Marcus holds a few seconds later.
Continuity: In the hallway, Hit-Girl dramatically reloads both pistols in slow motion. She takes three shots total before the pistols run out of ammo. Then she throws the guns away and takes one from the next criminal.
FAIR: Red Mist plugs the red and white audio component cables into the bear and the TV, yet he gets both audio and video. The red cable is attached to the bear's yellow (video) port. Since the cables are identical, the red cable on the other end could have been used for the video feed.
BOOM: Briefly in the window of a passing taxi as Dave and his friends cross the street to Atomic Comics.
SYNC: When Mindy pulls the mushroomed slug from her body armor and drops it on the cement, it makes the bright, tinkling sound of an empty brass cartridge.
Continuity: When Marcus reads the comic explaining the rise of Big Daddy and Hit Girl, a photo of Red Mist on the wall, before Red Mist is introduced in the movie.
FAIR: When Damon shoots Mindy to prepare her to take a bullet while wearing a bulletproof vest, it causes a small bullet hole in the jacket she wears over the vest. It's hard to see because of the jacket's color. Later, the jacket and Mindy's hair hide the three bullet holes.
Continuity: About six minutes in, a shot shows a comic book in Marty's hand. In the next shot, the comic book is on the table, and Marty's hand is on his lap.
Continuity: SPOILER: When Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl land on a roof before they unmask themselves, Hit-Girl has knuckledusters on both hands when they are in the air. As soon as they land, both knuckledusters are gone.
FAIR: Most of the New York license plates are the blue-on-white style in use since 2001, but some are blue-on-orange, which was discontinued in 1986. New York started reissuing "retro" blue-on-orange plates in April 2010.
Revealing mistakes: When Frank reads the newspaper story about the murder of the Kick-Ass impersonator, the second and third columns show the same article copied twice.
Continuity: While Todd, Marty and Dave were sitting and talking at the booth in the comic store, Marty was reading the comic book, then when the camera changed to show Chris arriving the comic was down on the table.
Continuity: When Damon shot Mindy in the chest, she initially fell with her left arm above her head, then when the camera angle changes she had both arms down by her side.
Continuity: During the live execution of Kick-Ass and Big Daddy, blood drips onto Kick-Ass's costume after being beat up but when they are pouring kerosene onto the floor under Kick-Ass and Big Daddy, the blood is gone.
Continuity: When Red Mist shows his father the video on the bear, the goon barely seems to look at the message before making the call. In the original shot he stares at it for a couple of seconds.
Fact errors: When Big Daddy enters the room after Marcus breaks in he clears the handgun ejecting an "empty" shell casing and not a live round.
Revealing mistakes: When Dave takes a call from Katie as he's leaving the house and she's at the Needle Exchange, he's using a cell phone clearly branded with the Orange telecommunications company logo, indicating that the phone has been SIM-locked and sold through the company. Orange operates in many parts of the world, notably the UK where the film was largely shot, but it does not operate in the United States.
Revealing mistakes: When Red Mist sends the message from the Mist Mobile on his iPhone, the red exclamation mark appears indicating that the message couldn't be sent. However, his message is still received.
Continuity: When in the Macready's hideout early in the movie, a picture drawn by Big Daddy of Red Mist can be seen, but Red Mist doesn't appear for the first time until later.

Quotes

Dave Lizewski: How do I get a hold of you?
Hit Girl: [sarcastically] You just contact the mayor's office. He has
a special signal he shines in the sky; it's in the shape of a giant
cock.
Damon Macready: [from trailer] Tool up, honey bunny. It's time to get
bad guys.
Hit Girl: So, you wanna play?
Hit Girl: Okay you cunts... Let's see what you can do now!
Damon Macready: So... Have you thought a little more about what you
might want for your birthday?
Mindy Macready: Can I get a puppy?
Damon Macready: [surprised] You wanna get a dog?
Mindy Macready: Yeah, a cuddly fluffy one, and a Bratz movie-star
make over Sasha!
Damon Macready: [stunned]
Mindy Macready: [laughs] I'm just fucking with you Daddy! Look, I'd
love a Benchmade model 42 butterfly knife.
Damon Macready: [relieved] Oh, child... You always knock me for a
loop!
Huge Goon: Fuck this shit, I'm getting the bazooka!
Katie Deauxma: Dave? What the fuck are you doing? Why are you dressed
as Kick-Ass?
Dave Lizewski: Because I am Kick-Ass!
Katie Deauxma: What are you talking about?
Dave Lizewski: I'm also not gay!
Katie Deauxma: Fuck!
Diner Fight Guy 1: The fuck is wrong with you, man? You'd rather die
for some piece of shit that you don't even fucking know?
Dave Lizewski: The three assholes, laying into one guy while
everybody else watches? And you wanna know what's wrong with me?
Yeah, I'd rather die... so bring it on!
Dave Lizewski: Even with my metal plates and my fucked up nerve
endings, I gotta tell you, that hurt! But not half as much as the
idea of leaving everything behind. Katie, my dad, Todd and Marty...
and all the things I'd never do. Like learn to drive or see what me
and Katie's kids would look like or find out what happened on
"Lost". And if you're reassuring yourself that I'm going to make it
through this since I'm talking to you now, quit being such a
smart-ass! Hell dude, you never seen "Sin City"? "Sunset
Boulevard"? "American Beauty"?
Chris D'Amico: Dad, you better fire this asshole!
Frank D'Amico: Ignore him... a bazooka?
Huge Goon: [nods]
Frank D'Amico: OK.
Huge Goon: [preparing to fire the bazooka] I always wanted to say
this. Say hello to my little friend!
Dave Lizewski: With no power, comes no responsibility. Except, *that*
wasn't true.
Dave Lizewski: Like most people my age, I just existed.
Dave Lizewski: Fuck you, Mr. Bitey!
Todd: Yeah! I think I'm in love with her, dude.
Marty: She looks like she's about 11 years old but...
Todd: I can wait! I solemnly vow to save myself for her.
Marty: I can see how that would be really difficult for you.
Damon Macready: [finding Marcus in his apartment, pointing a gun at
him] How'd you find me, Marcus?
Sergeant Marcus Williams: One of us is still a cop, remember?
Sergeant Marcus Williams: You owe that girl a childhood
Damon Macready: I'll tell you who owes her a childhood, FRANK
D'AMICO!
Hit Girl: Show's over, motherfuckers. [shoots camera]
Damon Macready: Hit-Girl, back to headquarters!
Damon Macready: Mindy, no more homework, Babydoll. Time for Frank
D'Amico to go byebye.
Hit Girl: Whatta douche!
Hit Girl: [to kick-ass] Hey! Hey asshole! You can't use the front
door now!
Dave Lizewski: [introducing himself] Dave. Dave Lizewski.
Hit Girl: [laughs] I know that, dumbass!
Hit Girl: Aww dude, that is one *gay* looking taser.
Chris D'Amico: Yeah, that's right! We're superheroes! You love us!
Frank D'Amico: Playtime's over kid.
Hit Girl: I *never* "play"
[Big Daddy just shot a man who was sneaking up on Hit-Girl as he was
about to kill her]
Damon Macready: Now Hit-Girl, we always keep our backs where?
Hit Girl: To the wall Daddy, I know. Um, it... it won't happen again.
Nice shot, by the way.
Damon Macready: Thank you.
Dave Lizewski: If it wasn't for you, I'd be dead.
Hit Girl: And if it wasn't for you... my dad wouldn't be.
[Stu barges into Frank's office and Frank almost shoots him]
Huge Goon: Whoa! It's only me boss. Everything's under control.
[slowly creeps over to the bazooka while Frank & Chris stare at him]
Chris D'Amico: Under control? You're grabbing a fucking bazooka, you
dumbass!
Huge Goon: [looks at Frank] Sir?
Frank D'Amico: Do it.
[last lines]
Dave Lizewski: [voiceover] Kick-Ass was gone but not forgotten. And
my world was a lot safer with the new generation of superheroes.
They said I was their inspiration. But all I did was open a door to
a world I'd dreamed about since I was a little kid.
[cut to Chris/Red Mist in his father's office]
Chris D'Amico: A world full of superheroes, eh?
[Chris turns around, showing his revamped Red Mist costume, and dons
a new, decidedly more 'supervillain' mask]
Chris D'Amico: As a great man once said... wait 'til they get a load
of me.
Dave Lizewski: Jesus, guys, doesn't it bug you? Like thousand of
people wanna be Paris Hilton and nobody wants to be Spiderman.
Marty: Yeah, what's with that? She has like no tits at all.
Todd: Maybe it's the porn tape, he doesn't have a porn tape.
Marty: You guys never saw "One Night In Spiderman"?
[Chris hands his father a list]
Frank D'Amico: What's this?
Chris D'Amico: That's everything I need. And you may have to screw
someone over. Like Louie...
Big Joe: Louie? Whoa, Chris.
Chris D'Amico: Or somebody, it doesn't have to be Louie.
Big Joe: Tony.
Chris D'Amico: Tony!
Frank D'Amico: Tony?
Chris D'Amico: I've always hated Tony.
Big Joe: Yeah, fuck Tony. He's a scumbag.
Frank D'Amico: Tony. [hands the paper back]
Mindy Macready: Daddy? I'm scared.
Damon Macready: Come on, Mindy, honey? Be a big girl now. There's
nothing to be afraid of.
Mindy Macready: Is it gonna hurt bad?
Damon Macready: Aww, child. Only for a second, sugar.
Damon Macready: [testing her] A handgun bullet travels at? More than?
Mindy Macready: [roles eyes] 700 miles an hour.
Damon Macready: 700 miles an hour. So at close range like this, the
force is gonna take you off your feet for sure, but it's really no
more painful than a punch in the chest.
Mindy Macready: [mumbles to herself] I hate getting punched in the
chest.
Damon Macready: [cocks gun] You're gonna be fine, baby doll!
[he aims and fires, hitting her squarely in the chest. She goes
flying off her feet, landing on her back]
Damon Macready: [walking up to her as she pulls the bullet out of her
bullet-proof vest hidden underneath her jacket] How was that? Not
so bad. Kinda fun, huh? Now you know how it feels.
[walking up to her as she pull the bullet out of her bullet-proof
vest]
Damon Macready: How was that? Not so bad. Kinda fun, huh? Now you
know how it feels. You won't be scared when some junkie asshole
pulls a glock.
Mindy Macready: [smiling] I wouldn't have been scared anyways!
Damon Macready: That's my girl.
Damon Macready: [helping her up] Alright, up you get. Two more rounds
and then home.
Mindy Macready: Again?
Damon Macready: Uh-huh.
Mindy Macready: Look, only if we can go by the bowling alley on the
way back.
Damon Macready: The bowling alley?
Mindy Macready: Yeah, and ice cream after!
Damon Macready: [thinking about it for a second] Huh... okay. Two
more rounds. No wincing... No whining! And you got yourself a deal,
young lady.
Mindy Macready: Yeah! I'm gonna get a hot fudge sundae!
Damon Macready: Good call, baby doll!
[shoots her again]
Big Daddy: Take cover child!
Big Daddy: Go to Robiiiin's Reveeeeeeeenge!
Big Daddy: Good job. I'm so proud of you, baby doll. Are you okay?
Hit Girl: Mhmm... but getting shot, Daddy... it hurt a lot more than
when you did it.
Big Daddy: That's because I used low velocity rounds, child... he...
he...
Hit Girl: You're the kindest Daddy in the whole world.
Big Daddy: No, I just... I love you...
Hit Girl: I love you, too, Daddy... I love you, too, Daddy. Sleep
tight.
[Dave sees Hit-Girl studying security cam footage]
Dave Lizewski: Is that Frank D'Amico's place? All that security? What
are you, crazy?
Hit Girl: My mom already died for nothing. So I'm sure as hell not
gonna let my dad die for nothing too.
Dave Lizewski: You can't do this on your own.
Hit Girl: Exactly. You wanna deal with owing my dad? Then shut the
hell up, and pick your weapon.
Dave Lizewski: I'll be honest, there wasn't a whole lot of
crime-fighting in those first few weeks. But even so, my new
vocation kept me plenty busy. I called it preparation. But if you
called it fantasizing, it would've been hard to argue. All I knew
was, I never felt so good about myself.
Mrs. Zane: [From Dave's fantasy where she wears nothing but her bra
and underwear, with a seductive tone] Look at me, Dave; Look at me.
Dave Lizewski: This is awesome! I look like frickin' Wolverine!
Frank D'Amico: I gotta send a public service message to the people
out there that being a superhero is bad for your health.
Dave Lizewski: What's the difference between Spider-Man and Peter
Parker? Spider-Man gets the girl.
Dave Lizewski: Like every serial killer already knew: eventually
fantasizing just doesn't do it for you anymore.
Frank D'Amico: [in falsetto voice] Mommy, I want to have a Kick-Ass
party!
