Then her structured and ordered life comes unhinged when her younger sister, Tess, re-enters her life, and a reporter, Kevin, is attracted to her. Kevin decides to publish Jane's secret and her overwhelming wardrobe. Things get even more complicated when Jane finds out she may end up losing George to none other than her very own sister.

Goofs

Continuity: When Jane and Kevin are in the Volvo in the rain storm and the car is shown from behind, both tail lights are working. When they hydroplane and go down the hill, only the left tail light is working.
Continuity: When Jane is tying George's tie, the part around his collar goes from being seam-side out to in to out again between camera angles.
Revealing mistakes: When driving through the rain, the water is running down the front window. If they actually were driving, the water would go back towards the roof because of the wind and speed of the car, and not running down the front window.
Revealing mistakes: In the scene where the sister is flipping through the newspaper clips, the article text doesn't match the headline (it's some completely unrelated article, with a wedding headline pasted on).
GEOG: When the plane carrying Tess lands in New York, the shot includes a couple of palm trees in the background haze (not geographically correct for a New York City airport).
Continuity: When Jane and Kevin are in her living room after showing him all 27 of her dresses, Jane is holding a glass of water in her right hand, with both her feet on the table. She then puts her feet back on the ground and places the glass on the table. In the next shot, Jane is seen with her feet on the table once again, the glass of water still in her right hand.
Continuity: When Jane is first hailing the cab in between her two friend's weddings, the light on top of the cab changes. First it's a cab with an advertisement on top and then the next shot shows that the cab only has a light that shows the cab number on it.
Continuity: When Kevin is eating breakfast with Jane he is scruffy, but when he walks out of the restaurant he is clean shaven.
Revealing mistakes: When Tess is speaking with Malcolm (Kevin) in the cake shop, she turns to walk away and her mic pack is clearly visible.
Fact errors: During the rehearsal dinner slide show a picture is shown of George at a graduation. The regalia is a mix of undergraduate (the flat mortar board) and post graduate (the bars on the bell sleeves of the gown).
Continuity: When Casey, Jane and George are walking down the hall at the office - Casey (Judy Greer) has a purple sash as a belt that is clearly tied at her right side. When Tess and Jane are walking out of the building, the sash/belt is directly in the middle of her stomach.
Continuity: When Jane is at the engagement party and has just seen Tess go off with George, she has a screaming fit near the '50th anniversary party'. In the first shot, the door to the engagement party is open, but when the shot comes back to her again, the door is closed and she has to open it to go back to the engagement party.
Continuity: After Jane gets hit in the head while trying to catch the bouquet at the wedding, she has what appears to be a black eye while sharing the cab with Kevin. When she gets out of the cab and is speaking with Kevin, the black eye has disappeared.
Continuity: After Jane is confronted by Tess, Tess answers the phone to Kevin and then throws the phone onto the couch. After Tess shouts "bridezilla's on the loose" the camera moves back to Jane and the phone is no longer on the couch.
FAIR: Jane's blouse in her bridesmaid sari is backwards. This could be because she got dressed in the cab by herself (there was no-one around to correct her) and she's also not of Indian origin. The sari being on backwards could be an intentional error by the film-makers.
Fact errors: During the end credits, the camera pans over text that reads "Mrs. Doyle had 27 bridesmaids, all dressed in the dresses she had collected over the years." Jane actually had 29 bridesmaids when you also count her sister and Casey (her friend).
Continuity: In one of the scenes where Jane is sitting in her office at work, her ponytail is curly. Once George summons her to his office, her ponytail is straight in a matter of seconds - noticeably straight.
Continuity: In the scene where Jane's sister slaps her, there is no visible mark or even a slight bruise left on Jane's face.
Continuity: When Jane is going into her father's shop Tess is right behind her, then after a cut to Jane's Father there is a cut to the door where Tess is seen running from the side before getting the door in her face.
Continuity: George is said to have dropped out of college when Jane is telling Tess about him but later at the engagement dinner during the slide show, George has doctoral regalia in one of the photos.
Continuity: When Jane is wearing one gown (from Suzanne and Greg's wedding), while carrying another in a bag, she hails a taxi and affixed on its roof there is an illuminated advertisement panel and its number is "9Z66". However, in the next two shots the ad panel has vanished and the taxi's number is now "8Z30". (There is a missing shot which can be seen in the deleted scenes.)
PLOT: Jane actually had 26 bridesmaids dresses, because at one wedding, "men wore dresses and women wore suits."
Continuity: In the beginning of the movie when Jane is pushed out of the way during the bouquet toss, she is wearing her floral head wreath as all the other bridesmaids are. In the next shot when Kevin is helping her up, the wreath is not in her hair, nor is it anywhere on the floor as if it fell out when she fell.
Continuity: When Jane steps outside her friend's engagement party to yell in anger, the shot shows the back of her as she screams facing a dark wall. The shot returns to one of her face as she is yelling, when a cough is heard from the 50th anniversary party going on in a large room where the dark wall once was. The black wall has disappeared and a party of mostly white decorations now in it's place.
SYNC: Right before Jane realizes she is yelling next to a 50th anniversary party, she is smacking her clutch purse against the wall in anger. Not only does her mouth not move as you hear her screaming, "Why, why, why?" but the sound of the purse hitting the wall does not match the points in which it hits. The last two smacking sounds occur while she holds the purse in the air and then after she has hit the wall and now has the purse by her side.
CHAR: At Pedro's baseball game when Tess is pretending to be vegetarian to impress George, she agrees with George in that they would never be vegan because being vegetarian is hard enough. When Jane calls her out on lying later, Tess says she could like soy milk if she tried. Soy milk is a vegan product. Vegetarians can still drink regular milk.
Revealing mistakes: After Jane, puts away her 2 latest bridesmaid dresses, she sits down to read the Commitments section of the paper. The article about the "Carnival Wedding" states that the bride has flowing blond hair, but in the picture she is obviously a brunette.
Continuity: During the breakfast scene when Tess and Jane's father is serving them mickey mouse pancakes, Jane is holding a coffee cup. When Tess gets up to answer her cell phone Jane is shown from the back holding a utensil. When the camera goes back to a front view of Jane, she is holding the coffee cup again.
Continuity: When Jane jumps from the gangplank onto the ship you can see her feet as she stops herself. You can very clearly tell that she is wearing no shoes on her feet. Instead she is simply standing on her toes barefoot. She didn't have her shoes in her hand and we never saw her take them off on the pier.
CHAR: When Kevin/Malcolm goes to Jane's house to talk about Tess and George he says he has to talk to all friends and family. But if that were so, at the first wedding she would have met him and known he was Malcolm.
Continuity: Katherine Heigl's hair color seems to change from scene to scene. When she's confronted by her sister after the article in published it is brown/red. Then blonde at work the next day, then brown/red at the bridal shop.
CHAR: Jane ('Katherine Heigl' (qv)) cleans all the dresses out of her closest and puts them in garbage bags. It would follow that she gets rid of them (throws them away or donates them), but all the brides manage to wear "their" dresses at her wedding later. Rumpled up in garbage bags wouldn't be the best way to store a dress.
Continuity: When Jane is waiting for Tess to come back to the apartment after going dancing with George, Jane is in bed and is heard saying that it is 3 O'Clock in the morning. Jane then gets up because she can't sleep, and begins to work on her laptop, exercise, and clean the kitchen. The impression is given that a couple of hours has passed since Jane got out of bed at 3AM, but when Tess gets back to the apartment and sees Jane, she says she is surprised that Jane is "still" awake. Tess should have said "You are up early," because it would have been likely around 6AM that Tess made her way back to the apartment.
CHAR: Unless the women were married, they would not have worn the jewels on their foreheads at the Indian wedding.
PLOT: During Jane's wedding all of her 27 bridesmaids are wearing the 27 dresses Jane wore before, but how would they all fit the new bridesmaids (they would be sized for Jane, because the 27 girls were brides before and wore something different)?
CHAR: When Katherine Heigl's character is standing on the boat telling "Kevin" that she loves him. She actually has an engagement ring on her left hand already.

Quotes

Jane: [after spending a drunken night with Kevin] I just want you to
know, I never do this.
Kevin: Oh, I know.
Jane: No, really. I never, never do this.
Kevin: No, really, I know. Last night, you kept saying it over and
over again: "I never do this", "I *never* do this", "I never *do*
this"...
Jane: Okay. I just wanted you to know.
Kevin: [motions to a "Gone With the Wind"-style dress] What the hell
is that?
Jane: Theme wedding.
Kevin: What was the theme? Humiliation?
Kevin: What color is that - vomit?
Kevin: What about you? You don't have any needs?
Jane: No. I'm Jesus.
Jane: Can you please find somebody else to be creepy with?
Kevin: [helping Jane practice saying no] Jane, give me fifty bucks.
Jane: No!
Kevin: Jane, it's fifty bucks. I'll pay you back.
Jane: No.
Kevin: [takes Jane's hand] Jane... I *need* you to give me fifty
bucks.
Jane: [hesitantly] No?
Kevin: Eh... not bad. Can I have your drink?
Jane: Sure.
[beat]
Jane: No! Oh, no...
Kevin: [laughing] You were doing so well!
Jane: Oh, I'm a really... very good caulker.
Kevin: [into recorder] Likes caulk.
Kevin: You'd rather focus on other people's Kodak moments than make
memories of your own!
Kevin: Wait, what are those?
Jane: [nervous] Nothing.
Kevin: Are those...?
Jane: No!
Kevin: Are they bridesmaid dresses?
Jane: This is none of your business!
Kevin: Oh... good God. What, you kept them all? You have a whole
closetful? Why?
Jane: I have a lot of friends and I like to keep them.
Kevin: [snickering] Right. Well, that makes complete sense because
they're... *beautiful*.
Jane: Some of them are not that bad.
Kevin: Not that bad? I'd like to see one of them that's not that bad.
Jane: You tell him the truth or I will.
Tess: No, you won't. You wouldn't hurt a fly and you definitely
wouldn't hurt me, I'm your sister.
Jane: That was yesterday. Today you're just some bitch who broke my
heart and cut up my mother's wedding dress.
Kevin: Love is patient, love is kind, love means slowly losing your
mind
Jane's Aunt: Must be so hard to watch your younger sister get married
before you.
Jane: Yes. Then I remember that I still get to have hot hate sex with
random strangers and I feel SO much better!
Jane: You would rather hang out with Italian models than come with me
to my *awesome* work party?
Jane: I feel like I just found out my favorite love song was written
about a sandwich.
Jane: [after passing out] Are you a doctor?
Kevin: No, but Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Drunk were bugging me.
Casey: [she and Jane are in mutual friend's wedding. Casey's hair is
a mess] What? Don't look at me like that! The bitch said "Up" so
it's up!
Jane: I think you should just admit that you're a big softy, that
this whole cynical thing is just an act so that you can seem
wounded and mysterious and sexy...
Kevin: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What was the last one?
Jane: What?
Kevin: Did you say "sexy"?
Jane: [nervous] What?
Kevin: You think I'm sexy?
Jane: No.
Kevin: It's okay if you do.
Jane: I don't!
Kevin: You kinda look like a shiny mermaid.
Jane: Wanna go find the ugliest stuff in the store and register Tess
for it?
Kevin: Let's do it.
Casey: [after Jane turns down a drink offer from George] He asks if
you want a drink. You smile and say, 'Vodka soda.' If you already
have a drink, you down it. Then there's some flirting, some
interoffice sex, an accidental pregnancy, a shot gun wedding, and a
life of bliss. How many times do we have to go over this?
Kevin: I cried like a baby at the Keller wedding.
Jane: God, Casey, can't you keep it in your pants for one wedding?
Casey: Are you kidding? The only reason to wear this monstrous dress
is that so some drunken groomsman can rip it to shreds with his
teeth.
Jane: How refreshing! A man who doesn't believe in marriage.
Kevin: I'm just trying to point out the hypocrisy of the spectacle.
Jane: Oh! That's so noble of you. Do you also go around telling small
children that Santa Claus doesn't exist? 'Cause someone needs to
blow that shit wide open.
Kevin: A-ha! So you admit that believe in marriage is kind of like
believing in Santa Claus!
Casey: Hey, do you want to come over to my place before the party?
Some of the guys from shipping are coming, and they're bringing
tequila and bubble wrap.
Jane: You got them champagne glasses and a bottle of Cristal.
George: Any way she's actually gonna believe it actually came from
me?
Jane: Maybe. Wrapped it like a car ran over it.
George: Nice touch.
Casey: What good is it being appreciated if no one is naked?
Casey: [on seeing Kevin] Who was that and where can I get one?
Jane: You write the most beautiful things. Do you actually believe in
love and marriage and just pretend to be a cynic or are you
actually a cynic who knows how to spin romantic crap for girls like
me?
Kevin: I didn't follow that at all, but I think the second one, the
spinning crap one.
Casey: [seeing Jane] Ooh, you clean up good. *I* might even be into
you.
[Jane has just humiliated Tess at her rehearsal dinner]
Casey: So what happened?
Jane: He needed to know the truth.
Casey: You could have told him face-to-face. I mean, I know my moral
compass doesn't exactly point due north, but... if I say
something's wrong, something's wrong.
Jane: You're the one who's always telling me to stand up for myself.
Casey: Yeah, but that's not what you did. What you did was unleash
twenty years of repressed feelings in one night. It was
entertaining, don't get me wrong, but if it was the right thing to
do, you'd feel better right now. Do you feel better right now?
Tess: [about their childhood dog] Not a day goes by that I don't
think about that bag of fleas. Good old Tory.
George: Hey, Jane, how come you never mentioned Tory?
Jane: I don't know. I guess I repressed the memory of *Toby*.
Tess: Yeah, his name was Toby, but I called him Tory because I had a
lisp.
Jane: A lisp that turned your B's to R's?
Tess: How could you let this happen to me?
[begins reading from newspaper article]
Tess: "If Jane is the prototypical accommodating bridesmaid, then her
sister Tess is cast as the overbearing, overindulged bride-to-be
who at any moment might start stomping around Manhattan, breathing
fire, and swatting planes from the sky."
Jane: I had no idea he was writing an article about me.
Tess: You? He called me Bridezilla! In the New York freaking Journal!
I could tear him apart limb from limb!
Jane: George appreciates me for who I am!
Casey: What good is it being appreciated if no one is naked?
