| Plot: | INTER SCI climatologist David Koch has evidence that a shift in the Earth's polarity triggered the last Ice Age...in a single day. Now, it's happening again, and there's no time to escape. As the temperature plummets, Miami is blasted with snow and ice. Evacuation routes are jammed. The only chance David, his old flame Bryn, and a few other hopeful survivors have is to hole themselves up in a special chamber at INTER SCI. A desperate race for survival is ignited as nature's fury rages and the temperature plunges toward -459.67° F...ABSOLUTE ZERO! |

Fact errors: The blizzard appears to continue even after Absolute Zero is attained. The clouds as well as the snow should have been frozen solid. Fact errors: The "news" station used throughout the movie KPOV would never be a local TV station in Miami. the K prefix for broadcast stations in the USA is for stations WEST of the Mississippi River and Miami, Florida is most certainly EAST of the Mississippi River Fact errors: In Florida cars are only required to have license tags on the rear of a motor vehicle, not on the front of the vehicle as seen in the movie. Fact errors: Once Absolute zero is attained, all gases, and liquids should be in solid state. And, that most gases liquefy a hundred degrees before absolute zero, thus the Earth should have became flooded, then once absolute zero was attained, everything should have been solid. Fact errors: The people who went out of the INTER SCI building should have been frozen solid since the temperatures were extremely low. Their suits were not enough to keep them warm and to insulate them from the extreme temperature. Fact errors: If it were even possible for earth's magnetic north and south poles to move to middle latitudes, it would not flip the earth's climate zones, as climate is governed by altitude and proximity to the poles via the tilt of the earth's axis which affords lower latitudes more direct sun rays. The arbitrary position of the magnetic north and south poles shifting to equatorial latitudes would have a dramatic effect on weather patterns, but would not cause polar regions to become tropical and equatorial regions to become frozen. |
