Revealing mistakes: The "pills" that Roenick shows us more clearly near the end of movie are clearly Icebreakers mints. You can even see the little blue "flavor capsules" in them. Revealing mistakes: In the closing scene there are no tire tracks in the fresh snow for the ambulance. Continuity: The amount of snow falling outside the bus while it was on the road alternates between heavy when the camera points inward through the front windshield from outside and none when it points outward from inside. Revealing mistakes: When the SUV flips over after having its tire shot out, a stuntman's elbow pad is visible in the window of the SUV while it is turning over. Continuity: When Jake is washing his face in the mirror's reflection, his tattoos are still on his left (non-reflection) side, showing the camera was shooting through glass to simulate the reflection. Revealing mistakes: When Beck is shooting out the window upstairs at a cop car, you can see the policeman running away, then suddenly, the policeman disappears. Continuity: When the black cop is shot by the bus and goes down, he drops his gun in the snow. In the next few shots the gun is again in his hand, then back on the ground. Continuity: At the end, when Fishburne walks away and the other cops are coming, it's dark. In the next shot, it's light. Continuity: When Alex and Jake talk after Alex returns, you can see the amount of snow that's sticking to the window go up and down. Continuity: Capra is still wearing the handcuffs when he and Iris drive off in the SUV, but after the crash, the cuffs are gone. Fact errors: There are no holding cells in the basement of any of Detroit's precincts. Revealing mistakes: In the forest scene, after shooting Duvall there was still a round chambered in Roenick's pistol but when Bishop took the pistol there was magazine in it. Continuity: During the initial sequence of lasers and shots aimed inside the station, characters close the Venetian blinds. However, in subsequent shots, the blinds are open again. Miscellaneous: After Roenick comes in from the fight he had with the guy in the bus, he has a bloody lip. After this point, it appears and reappears through out the movie, until it eventually is gone altogether. Continuity: When Duvall is explaining his mathematical justification of why he believes the assault is warranted, he states that there are eight people inside the building, but at the time, he had no way of knowing how many people were inside the building, and this is verified later on when he asks Alex to tell him how many people are inside. Revealing mistakes: When Roenick slides in to close the blinds after the lasers come through, he hits the radiator, which moves under his weight, suggesting it's not bolted down. Revealing mistakes: Just after Roenick pulls the doc back from the front door after she tried to leave on her own: The lasers lines veers back and forth in much wider angles through the windows than would be coherent with the shooters being so far away that the story indicates. There's even some darting in a very steep angle upwards indicating that the shooters would be sitting few meters away from the building. Revealing mistakes: Many of the weapons used show no operation and shell ejection, making it obvious that they are simple rubber replicas with muzzle flash and sound added on in post-production. Continuity: Other than the prisoner transfer bus on its way to Precint 13, no other vehicles are shown to have any traction problems on the snow-covered roads. SYNC: When the camera is behind Beck while he is talking to Jake through the bars, you can see that his mouth talking but there are no words. This is right before you says the second "You!" Revealing mistakes: After the first flash grenade is shot into the precinct, Ethan's gun shows no slide action while firing out the window. |

Jake Roenick: Don't miss, Bishop. Marion Bishop: Run fast, Sergeant. Rosen: Your eyes are red. You been smokin' crack? Beck: Your eyes are glazed. You been eatin' donuts? Iris Ferry: I don't bed criminals, okay? [shouts] I fuck bad boys. Jake Roenick: Put your goddamned gun down ! [last lines] Iris Ferry: Happy New Year, Sarge. Marion Bishop: Marcus Duvall still lives. To me this is unacceptable. Marko: My man here say your dog testify at his cousins trial. Jake Roenick: [laughs] Oh, shit! Beck: Hey Bish... Bish... Bish... Bish, Bish, Bish, Bish, Bish, Bish, Bish... BISH! Jake Roenick: I want to live; as opposed to I don't want to die. Marcus Duvall: [Kneels in front of a kneeling Sabian] How many are inside? Alex Sabian: [Thinking] Uh... 100. Marcus Duvall: Answer the question. Kahane: [shakes Sabian] Answer, bitch! Alex Sabian: [stares at Duvall] Marcus Duvall: You're a brave woman. [Stands up and shoots Sabian point blank in the head] [first lines] Jake Roenick: Listen to me. What are we talking about, really? Getting high? No. We're talking about a journey, man. A subconscious safari. A mental expedition, OK, a mind trek. This planet has been raped, pillaged and fucked! And the mind is the only uncharted territory [picks up cocaine] Jake Roenick: And this shit is the ship. It's the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria and you... are fuckin' Magellan. [spills a little bit of cocaine] Jake Roenick: Oh fuck... I spilled some. [laughs hysterically] Jake Roenick: So what do you say my Serbian motherfucking friend? Do you want to take a trip or do you want to sit on your ass? Marko: Yeah, OK, Napoleon... let's see what you got. Jake Roenick: [Throwing a badge on the table] So, I just killed someone. His name was Danny Barbaro... he works for Ray Portnow. Tell me Bishop, why are police officers risking their lives to get to you? Marion Bishop: I suppose you know who I am, Sergant Roenick? Jake Roenick: You're a scumbag gangster. Marion Bishop: Well, one of my scumbag partners in crime is your fellow officer, Marcus DuVall. Me and DuVall used to split things fifty-fifty. Marcus got greedy, he wanted more. Jake Roenick: So what? Marion Bishop: So, if I go to court and finger all of them... they go to jail, for the rest of their days. |
