| Plot: | A rash of bizarre murders in New York City seems to point to a group of grotesquely deformed vagrants living in the sewers. A courageous policeman, a photo journalist and his girlfriend, and a nutty bum, who seems to know a lot about the creatures, band together to try and determine what the creatures are and how to stop them. |

Quotes
|
Mrs. Monroe: Cooper, you son of a bitch. I'm in jail. I only get one phone call. You think I wanna waste it talking to some goddamn fucking machine? Captain Bosch: Are you kidding? Your guy's got a camera. Mine's got a flamethrower. A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: You Cooper? George Cooper: Yeah. A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: You all right? George Cooper: Who are you? A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: I run the soup kitchen. George Cooper: On Kenmann. A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: Right... right. This is crazy. C'mon. George Cooper: Thank God they deliver. A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: What are you trying to hide?... You saw it. You saw the monster! Wilson: Is that what you're going to tell the papers? That you're afraid of monsters? A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: That's exactly what I'm gonna tell them if you don't fill me in. [the police are returning Mrs. Monroe's bags after interrogation] Mrs. Monroe: How do I know you didn't take anything? Officer Crespi: How do I know you didn't give us anything? A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: N-R-C. You know what this is? This thing detects accumulated radiation. They wear these things in nuclear power plants. Captain Bosch: How do you know that? A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: I used to be a nuclear physicist... [Bosch looks at him incredulously] A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: I saw it on TV. Val: Gog... and Magog. Captain Bosch: Yeah... well... uh, Val, I understand you used to live underground. What made you change your mind? Val: On each side of the throne there are four living creatures filled with eyes in front *and* behind. Captain Bosch: Creatures? Talking about your friends? They still down there? Val: I know your work. You go by the name of being alive and you are dead. Captain Bosch: Now listen, pal... [Val whips out a big knife and Bosch jumps back, startled] Val: They have the power to shut the sky. [quivering] They have the power to shut the sky. A.J. 'The Reverend' Shepherd: [Shepherd is growing tired of Bosch's evasive answers] It doesnt wash, Bosch. Murphy: You must be a pretty important fella, fella. |
