Continuity: After William brings Maria coffee in bed, she stands up and takes off her gray shirt revealing a black sleeveless top. She has the gray shirt on again while she's sitting on the toilet. Fact errors: Cut hairs without skin tags, which do not contain DNA, are used for a DNA analysis. Fact errors: According to on screen text at the beginning of the movie, Code 46 restricts reproduction of two individuals who are 100%, 50% or 25% identical. If two people were 100% genetically identical, then they would be the same sex and would not be able to reproduce. FAIR: The numerous seeming "errors in geography" are actually an intentional artistic choice. Because the film is set in a future where global cultures have become thoroughly merged, Michael Winterbottom purposely blended footage shot in Shanghai, Dubai and Rajastahn so that Shanghai has a desert outside it, etc. |

Maria: You have a kid? William: Yeah? Maria: Chico or chica? William: Chico. Maria: I bet he's special. William: He *is* special. Maria: Everybody's children are so special. It makes you wonder where all the ordinary grown-ups come from. William: I always wondered why the coyote didn't just go out and buy a Road Runner. He had enough money to buy rocket-powered roller-skates so he had money to buy a Road Runner. [last lines] Maria: I miss you. Wole: There is no freckles pornography. William: Well, there is "Anne of Green Gables". Wole: I consider "Anne of Green Gables" to be an erotic masterpiece. Maria: If we had enough information, we could predict the consequences of our actions. Would you want to know? If you kissed that girl, if you talked to that man, if you take that job, or marry that woman, or steal that papel? If we knew what would happen in the end, would we ever be able to take the first step, to make the first move? Maria: If we are frightened, we run. It's our instinct. Adrenaline pumps round the body. The muscles contract. Our heart beats faster. And we run. We run for our lives, we run for safety, for our home, our families, our loved ones. William: Tell me something about yourself. Maria: Make love to me. Make me make love to you. William: Damn, I'm all out of bibles. Maria: [to William] You know, one of my fingers is younger than the others. William's Boss: We all have problems, William. How we deal with them is a measure of our worth. |
