Continuity: When George falls into the hole, it would have instantly filled with water because the rest of the tunnel was almost waist deep. Continuity: After George meets the first survivors, he hands them his flash light and heads off to look for more people. In the next shot he is holding the flashlight. Continuity: When Kit and Madelyne are coming out of the water after the explosion the sky is cloudy, but when they are saved a few minutes later the sky is clear and the sun is shining brightly. Continuity: When the Cadillac driven by the jewelry thieves is racing through the tunnel, the grille of the car varies between being in perfect shape and being completely ripped out. Revealing mistakes: When Eleanor is holding the pipe in George's mouth after he has been pinned under the truck the sleeve of a bright pink wetsuit can be seen under her shirt sleeve. Revealing mistakes: When the tunnel entrance collapses on top of the cars in front you can see that they are empty when they are supposed to be filled with drivers. PLOT: George is next to the truck that explodes, he is not in a car, and doesn't have anything to cover himself. Yet, he is one of the only survivors. Revealing mistakes: When Kit goes through the first fan, they have to slow it down because it is going much too fast. When he gets to the other 3 fans, they are almost stopped as well. The fans are not connected together. Otherwise, they would have all started at the same time too. Revealing mistakes: When the rolling tunnel explosion happens, there is a shot of the explosion rolling over cars that are already damaged from the explosion, yet it hasn't reached them yet. FAIR: At the beginning of the movie there are two lanes of traffic going into the tunnel even though there is a solid, double yellow line between them. This road marking does not necessarily mean that there should be two lanes of traffic traveling in opposite directions, but rather it indicates that passing or changing lanes is illegal or at least severely restricted. SYNC: (At 22:25) When Kit tells the chief about the simulation that was done in 1994, both actors said "1993" when the scene was filmed, but "1994" was dubbed in later. (In a later scene, when Kit refers to the simulation again, it is said correctly as "1994".) Revealing mistakes: The water, entering the tunnel from the river above, is much too clear. Due to mud and sand above the tunnel ceiling the water should be brown and dirty. DATE: When Kit finds some fuses, he finds them underwater, making them wet. Furthermore, they were down there for about 80 years. Water-proof fuses were not invented in the 1920s. Crew: When Roy Nord is heading off to check out the damage for himself after George tells him it's all blocked off, there's a shot of him walking down the tunnel towards the wall of fire, and his shadow is cast on the wall behind him. For a few seconds, there is ANOTHER shadow of somebody running that appears in front of Roy's, then disappears. Fact errors: In the beginning of the movie when they have to shut down the fans so Sylvester Stallone's character can get into the vent system, he gets past the first fan and then it kicks on. The other fans aren't moving that fast. Once the first fan kicked on, the other fans should be spinning much faster due to fluidic coupling, which is similar to a torque converter in a car. Revealing mistakes: In the scene where the jeweler is getting into his car, you can see the sign to the jewelry store behind him. The word 'jewelry' is misspelled. It says 'jewlery'. |

Madelyne Thompson: Don't be scared. They're just shit with feet. Madelyne Thompson: [singing] Start spreading the news/I'm leaving tonight/I've had it up to here with all your shit/New York, New York. Kit Latura: I hope you make it, Roy. Roy Nord: I always make it. Roy Nord: It's exhausting being me. George Tyrell: Get them back to daylight. George Tyrell: [seeing Roy taking out his bungee equipment] What are you crazy? I have checked all over this place there's no way out. Roy Nord: Hey. I was born 6 months premature. My own mother could'nt keep me in. Kit Latura: Okay we're high and dry and out of danger. Now, what we do'nt need is more suprises. Right? Steven Crighton: Okay, Were high and dry. Now what? Kit Latura: Now, I may have a way where I can take down a part of that tube, that will seal us off from the fire and plug up that leak. Steven Crighton: How do you plan on doing that? Kit Latura: I gonna have to use an explosive. [the people sigh in disbelief] No. wait. wait a second. Let me explain. Steven Crighton: An explosive? that's your idea down here? No wonder you got people killed. Kit Latura: Hey. If anybody's got a better idea, now is the time to say it. Steven Crighton: You really do not know how much damage this tunnel has sustained. So, how do you know that you can contain it to one section? Kit Latura: You know what, I don't know. I don't know anything. But, the one thing I know is that we're not going to make it another hour unless I shut this thing down. Ashley Crighton: [as seeing a huge gush of water pouring into the damaged tunnel] Excuse me Mr. Latura. But, are we gonna drown? Kit Latura: What's your name? Ashley Crighton: Ashley. Kit Latura: Okay, Ashley. I may find a way to stop this leak. So, it will keep us from drowning, that's the good news. Sarah Crighton: Okay, what's the bad news? Kit Latura: This water is 38 degrees. So, the only thing we have to worry about is Hypothermia. LaTonya: Hypo-what? Sarah Crighton: Hypothermia. It's when your body loses heat and shuts down. When your body is getting tired, really, you're getting dead. Does that sound fair enough? Kit Latura: [hearing the tunnel collapsing on itself] Keep trying you piece of shit. Keep trying. You've killed everybody else. You know what, you haven't killed me. [readies an explosive] I have found your heart, and I'm gonna blow it right out of you [thrusts the explosive right into the wall of mud] Chief Dennis Wilson: [Bloom emerges from air shaft] Whaddya got? Bloom: Sorry, Chief. Blocked about twenty feet in. [Coughs] Structure's so shaky, I wouldn't even risk a firecracker. Chief Dennis Wilson: What about hydraulics? We brace up as we go... Bloom: Can't be done! Chief Dennis Wilson: You listen to me. The person who says it can't be done is always interrupted by the one who just did it! [Climbs into air shaft; air shaft immediately collapses, killing Wilson] |
