Continuity: Tim is taking the trash out and John drives up to speak with Savannah who is not home. Tim reaches into the trash and gives John a scrap of paper to write a message on to leave for her, and a pen also magically appears. Miscellaneous: There is a typo in the end credits. In the Special Thanks section it reads "United States Mint And Its' Philadelphia Facility" Continuity: John's rank throughout the movie is that of an E-5 (SGT), yet all of the letters use the rank of E-6 (SSG). It isn't until he returns home after his father suffers a stroke is he an E-6. DATE: In one scene of John in his room when he's at war, it is around September 11, 2001. They have a poster on the wall of a Bud Light beer bottle, and it says Drinkability on it. But the term "drinkability" wasn't actually used by Bud Light until recently. Continuity: During the climatic dinner scene, John is wearing his staff sergeant rank on his shoulders upside down. (The rocker should be furthest from his neck). Halfway through the scene, it shifts to the correct positioning, and then when he leaves, it is incorrect again. This is the only time the rank on his uniform is applied incorrectly. Continuity: When John runs up behind Savannah in the sand and sits down her legs are straight, when it cuts to a different angle when John sits down her legs are crossed. Fact errors: When John learns about 9/11 the coffee shop's TV is in Serbian while the coffee shop's sign is in Hungarian. 'Tigris Kávéház' means Tiger Coffeeshop and the sign to the right: 'Muvész' means Artist. DATE: In a few early scenes when John and Savannah are hanging out, it's supposed to be 2001 but Savannah is wearing skinny jeans, which only became popular again (from the 1950s or so) at the end of the decade. DATE: The watch John wore in the movie (Suunto X9i) is very popular in the military for it's GPS capabilities. The first time John can be seen wearing this watch is in scenes from 2001, however this product was not produced until late 2006. Fact errors: Toward the end of the movie when eating with Savanna, John is not wearing his Name placard correctly on his dress uniform. He wears it directly on the top of the right breast pocket, when it should in fact be 1/4 inch above the pocket to be in accordance with Army regulation AR 670-1. Miscellaneous: When the town of Worcester is mentioned in the film, the subtitles misspell it "Wooster", which is how the name is pronounced. SYNC: Where John fires his weapon at a terrorist, it is not the sound of a M-4 but more of a .50cal Machine gun. Continuity: Where John fire his weapon at a terrorist, the view of his weapon changes from a M4 to a M240B and back to an M4. Continuity: in the scene where John is in the kitchen with Savannah after he returns home, his rank insignia on his shirt is upside down. After he and Savannah "make up" the insignia is the right way around. |

John Tyree: Two weeks together, that's all it took, two weeks for me to fall for you. Savannah Curtis: The saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Savannah Curtis: See you soon then. John Tyree: No matter where you are in the world, the moon is never bigger than your thumb. Savannah Curtis: You don't scare me John. John Tyree: Well you scare me. John Tyree: So there's something else I wanna tell you. Right before everything went black, you wanna know the very last thing that entered my mind? You. John Tyree: You're starting to make me a little nervous. Savannah Curtis: Why am I starting to make you nervous? John Tyree: Because I'm starting to think you might be too good of a person for me. Savannah Curtis: Oh. No, I'm not that good of a person. John Tyree: You're sneaking off every day to do manual labor on a house for charity. On your spring break. Savannah Curtis: Yeah, you're right. It's selfish, really, me being this generous. John Tyree: But no, seriously. You don't drink, you don't smoke. Savannah Curtis: Nope. Nope. John Tyree: You probably don't sleep around. Savannah Curtis: Absolutely not. John Tyree: Okay, look, you gotta have a fault. Savannah Curtis: I do. John Tyree: Okay, care to enlighten me? Savannah Curtis: I curse. John Tyree: No, you don't. Savannah Curtis: Yes, I do. John Tyree: I haven't heard you. Savannah Curtis: Well, that's because it's in my mind. There's a never-ending stream of curse words that I'm thinking at all times. John Tyree: Okay, fine, just say one then. Savannah Curtis: No, I can't tell you because it's filthy. John Tyree: Right. Savannah Curtis: Yeah. John Tyree: Okay, all right. Fair enough. Savannah Curtis: No, I have faults, John. Trust me, I have plenty of them. You'll see. Savannah Curtis: I hope so. Savannah Curtis: The problem with time, I've learned, whether it's those first two weeks I got to spend with you, or the final two months I got to spend with him, eventually time always runs out. I have no idea where you are out there in the world, John. But I understand that I lost the right to know these things long ago. No matter how many years go by, I know one thing to be as true as ever was - I'll see you soon then. |
