| Plot: | Mike Dooley, who works on the San Diego narcotics squad, is working on a stakeout of drug kingpin Ken Lyman, and Mike barely escapes with his life as his car is blown up by a helicopter that was sent by Lyman. Later, Mike is given a partner -- a dog named Jerry Lee. Mike doesn't like Jerry Lee, but he begins to warm up to Jerry Lee when Jerry Lee shows how helpful he can be. Mike wants to know where Lyman's next drug shipment will take place, and Jerry Lee helps Mike. In order to keep Mike from messing up the shipment, Lyman has Mike's girlfriend Tracy kidnapped. Mike and Jerry Lee find Halstead, the car dealer who delivers Lyman's shipments, and with Jerry Lee's help, Mike takes the shipment from Halstead, and drives the shipment to where Lyman is expecting the shipment, and this leads to a confrontation with Lyman. |

Continuity: The blade of the forklift that Dooley steps gently off is seen in the next scene to be above head height. Continuity: When Dooley takes the dog to the hospital, he is seen placing his gun on the table at the head of the bed on which he lays the dog. In the very next scene just a second later, as the dog is being wheeled out to be operated on, the gun is back in his holster although he was never seen putting it there. Continuity: Icing on the dog's face during the car chase following the "Eat it! Take it all!" donut gag. Continuity: As Jerry Lee comes out of the car wash, he is approached by a man with one blue and one pink towel. However, when the camera switches to a closer view the man now has two pink towels Miscellaneous: In the hotel restaurant we hear Jerry Lee 'drinking' the tea through a straw but the level in the glass does not change even after the cut. Continuity: During the movie Dooley is playing a game when he is on stakeout. In the background you can see the Mustang emblem on the steering wheel. Later in the stolen police car when he is playing a game while tailing Lyman, the Mustang emblem is in the background again. Fact errors: When Jerry Lee pulls the mirror off Dooley's car, Dooley berates him for damaging his "classic, '65 Mustang". Dooley's car is, in fact, a not so classic, '66 Mustang. Continuity: When Dooley is chasing the man on the roof of the building, you can see the man's hand on the letter "C" before he attacks Dooley. Crew: In the last scene when Dooley is driving to Las Vegas you can see the reflection of the crew and camera in his sunglasses. |

Lyman: Dooley, what is it about me that makes you so passionate? Dooley: Well, it's not your looks, Lyman. I guess it's your job. Lyman: And knowing your methods of law enforcement, I don't suppose that you have a search warrant? Dooley: Dog ate it. You can hang around his tail for an hour. Tracy: Do you know you have an animal growing out of your pants? Dooley: Thanks, hon. I also have a dog here. [Helicopter pilots are shooting up Dooley's car] Dooley: Well, it's not the Eyewitness News Team. [Flames erupt underneath Dooley's car] Dooley: I think somebody is mad at me. [Dooley's car explodes] Dooley: DEFINITELY somebody is mad at me. Dooley: Alright, let's get one thing straight: The woman is mine! Now we're both members of the animal kingdom. You know that and I know that. And we both know that this thing is really primal. So if you think you're such a badass you just try that one more time and you're gonna end up in a pet cemetary! You remember the movie Old Yeller? You remember when they shot him in the end? I didn't cry! Now come on! [Dooley meets Jerry Lee] Brannigan: There he is, the best nose on the force. He could stick that snout in the wind right now and lead you to a stash in the middle of Tijuana. Dooley: Listen, I gotta be up front with you. I got a real bad feeling about this dog. Brannigan: Hey, tough shit. That's all I got. Not I want you to take care. Dooley: Don't worry about the dog. Brannigan: It's not the dog I'm worried about. Dooley: I want you to know that I'm the officer in charge here, Michael Dooley not Jerry Lee Jerry Lee: [looks at Dooley] Dooley: Don't you ever [ever] pull anything like that again, without talking to me first Jerry Lee: [puts his head down] Dooley: You lost it in there you know that, you lost control, we could be killed [pause] I needed you back here Jerry Lee: [slowly lifts his head and looks at Dooley] Dooley: What if they ran out? [pause] you could've got them here Dooley: You understand Jerry Lee: [looks down] |
