DATE: In the opening party sequence, a logo sheet on Hannah's door shows various Cornell logos, including the redesigned crest logo, which wasn't used until 2004. In 1998, the official Cornell logo was the "Big Red Box", which was frequently criticized for looking like the J.C. Penney logo. Continuity: When Tom and his friend are looking in the window of the bridal shop, Tom sees his reflection in the window with the bridesmaid dress. In the window, Tom's arms and neck are bare. However, he is wearing a polo shirt with long sleeves. Continuity: In the second scene, Tom cuts off a white police car. In the next shot, a yellow cab is behind him. In the shot after that, it becomes a van. Revealing mistakes: When Colin and Tom are playing basketball, Colin appears to jump off a trampoline to make the slam dunk. He lifts his legs to jump, bounces, then jumps higher to reach the basket. Continuity: When they first arrive in Scotland there are only two cars on the ferry, but as they drive off there are three. SYNC: When Hannah is chastising the store owner for having an alligator purse, the camera focuses on her and she says "You should be ashamed of yourself" the camera pulls back to follow Tom pet the dog and Hannah once again says the line, this time with no audio. GEOG: "Announcing the bridesmaids" scene, where Hannah tells Tom who will be the bridesmaids, is based in New York. A few seconds after the the bridesmaids walk into the lobby through the revolving door, a double-decker bus is seen passing on the street outside the double doors. There are no double-decker buses in New York. (Filming was done in London.) Continuity: "Steal the bride" locker room scene: To the right of Tom, where he is seated on a bench is shaving gel and deodorant. In the first shot, the deodorant is laying on its side to the right of the shaving gel. When we cut back to Tom, the deodorant is standing straight up and on the left of the shaving gel. Revealing mistakes: In the locker room scene after the basketball game with Colin, as one of the men going into the shower removes his towel, the waistband of his boxer shorts is briefly visible. Continuity: When Hannah has just arrived back from Scotland, Tom decides to buy a very small bouquet of yellow flowers with netting. Then in the next scene, the flowers have changed and the netting is gone. Then in the next scene his flowers are the same as the scene before, but now the netting is back. Revealing mistakes: As the Range Rovers are pulling up to the summer castle when the bridesmaids first arrive in Scotland, they are not on the driveway. They can be seen driving off the lawn, possibly to help get a better angle on the shot. Continuity: SPOILER: In the last scene of the movie, when Hannah and Tom are in bed, Hannah's hair is mussed in one shot, and then neatly tucked behind her ear in another. Revealing mistakes: When Tom dials Hannah's Scotland number, we see him hitting numbers as if he is dialing but the screen stays the same on a screen that just says "Hannah" and has her number on it. GEOG: When Tom calls Hannah, it's 3:00 am in Scotland. With the 5-hour time difference, it should be 10:00 pm in New York, yet daylight is shining through Tom's window. GEOG: SPOILER: Near the end of the movie, Tom is driven to the airport. A few seconds later, Hannah is on a ferry boat. A Land Rover in both shots has the same license plate. CHAR: Hannah says Colin needs permission to marry her because he is a duke. She talks to her minister at Grace Church, one of New York's historic Episcopal (Anglican) churches. If Colin is a Scottish Peer, he would be Presbyterian, and not allowed to marry in the Church of England. CHAR: Hannah, an art expert, pronounces Modigliani with a g in the middle. The g should be silent. |

Melissa: Service me bitch! [discussing the Bridemaid's dresses] Melissa: What's your dress size, Tom? Tom: I don't know. What's your jock size, Melissa? [last lines] Tom: Oh, Monica... Hannah: Oh, Bill... Dennis: I can feel my sperm dying inside of me, one at a time. Colin McMurray: in the scene at the gym after Colin dunks the ball, "I'm sorry, that's probably not allowed... to just stuff it in there like that." Tom: Nobody in the world makes me laugh the way you do. You're my best friend. I just wanna be with you. Christie - Wife #6: If you're a bad boy, I'm gonna spank you! [she spanks Tom] Tom: Ow! Ok, I've got something to say to you. [Hannah kicks him] Ow! Christie - Wife #6: Tom, I just want you to know that if you need anything, money, advice, help with girl problems, you can always come to me. I'd like you to think of me as a real mother. Tom: Alright, sure [Tom's dad comes over] Christie - Wife #6: Oh, here he is! Thomas Bailey Sr.: She's just as drunk as the night we met. [Tom starts to take a drink from his whiskey but Christie snatches it away and drinks it herself] Tom: Oh got right on ahead. Thomas Bailey Sr.: [Slaps Tom] You're a bad influence on her! Tom: Wha-? Me? [Thomas Sr. and Christie walk off] Hannah: He knows that he can just date right? Tom: No, I don't think so. [They laugh] Tom: I have a theory. Hannah: Oh, Casanova has a theory. Tom: I'm sorry I can't break that rule. I have a rule about that. Melissa: Could someone please pass me the Splenda? Could someone who is not a misogynist pass the Splenda? Melissa: [Stephanie takes the sugar bowl out of Tom's hand and passes it to Melissa] Thank you, Stephanie. Hannah: We won't be naming our child, Athol. Maybe when he's a teenager. Colin's Father: My mother's third cousin was the Duke of Athol. Aunt Minna: We're a long line of Athols. |
