DATE: Farmer MacReadie says he heard of a pig which played Scrabble, but the game was known as Criss-Crosswords until 1948. DATE: Mr Spolding (Sam Kelly) wears the uniform of the Civil Defence Corps. This unit was formed in 1949, long after the WW2 setting for this film. With his white "W" helmet, he should have worn an ARP uniform. Continuity: The sidecar goes from the left side to the right side when going through Trafalgar Square. Continuity: During the seen where the syrup is in the drawers in the shop, Isabel can be seen closing one of the drawers twice. Continuity: Vincent's teeth can be seen as different sizes throughout the movie showing that scenes were not filmed in order. Fact errors: During the motorcycle trip through London, none of the vehicles that Nanny McPhee drives past have blackout covers on headlamps. These were mandatory in England during WWII. DATE: SPOILER: When Norman and Cyril attempt to enter the War office, they are stopped by a black man in the traditional uniform of the five regiments who guard the British monarchy (red tunic, large bearskin hat). The first black member of the five regiments joined in 2007. Continuity: In all the magic scenes with the piglets, i.e. synchronized swimming, there are 6 piglets. When Vincent is chasing the group towards the trap, there are 7 piglets running down the path. Continuity: Farmer Macreadie arrives at noon to pick up the piglets. Right after he leaves, when the sun should still be high in the sky, it is just over the trees on the other side of the field. |
Quotes

Nanny McPhee: Leave it to me. Celia: Where are we? Cyril: We are in the land of poo. Duck poo, cow poo, goat poo. Nanny McPhee: I hear you've been naughty. Megsie: Nanny McPhee we need you! Nanny McPhee: These children need me. Nanny McPhee: I am Nanny McPhee. Small C, Big P. Mrs. Docherty: You seem to have forgotten the way she works. When you need her but do not want her, then she must stay. When you want her, but no longer need her, then she has to go. I know from personal experience. |
