Goofs
|
Continuity: When the motorcycle refuses to start, the headlight is on. In the next shot where the cycle is shown, the light is off. Continuity: When Ben takes a picture of the German couple, the woman is holding one kind of champagne. And on the paper picture shown afterwards, the champagne is of another label. Fact errors: Tim Horton's 'roll up the rim to win' contests happen in March and in November. Neither month's weather is represented in this movie. GEOG: The World's Largest Hockey Stick is shown somewhere in the Prairies, when in fact it resides in Duncan, BC on Vancouver Island. Continuity: When Ben crashes his motorcycle, he has on his goggles. However, when he is lying on the ground and becomes conscious, we see his eyes open with no goggles anywhere to be seen. GEOG: We see Ben enter Saskatchewan from Manitoba and then go to Kipling which is a side trip north of the TCH. We next see his cycle dying on the side of the highway after making a side trip to see the desert Camel. The problem is the camel (Sarah) is in Glenboro, Manitoba. This would have been over a 320 km reverse trip for Ben to make. Unlikely he would have taken this 6-7 hour round trip detour when he could have easily driven south of the TCH on his way to SK. GEOG: Mile "0" of the TCH is not at a dock in Tofino, BC. It is in Victoria, BC at Beacon Hill Park. GEOG: As Ben travels across Northern Ontario, he stops in Kenora, Ontario for a pose with Husky the Musky. He is next seen posing alongside the World's Largest Smoking Pipe - in St. Claude Manitoba and then we see him passing the "Welcome to Manitoba" sign which he would have passed 250km before the smoking pipe and 50km past Kenora. GEOG: Ben passes the largest thermometer at White River Ont. and then later appears to be passing the Great Goose at Wawa. White River is, however, further along the road than Wawa. |

Narrator: When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all a long... What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfil? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write? [Written on a black board: "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."] |
