Continuity: When Jake jumps down off the table, you can see a paw on Bob's lap from a second dog that was removed entirely from the movie. Continuity: When the mother is taking the pillows off the bed she takes the same pillow off three times. Continuity: When Sean goes to the "Frat" party and sits on the couch, the couch he sits on changes between shots. Continuity: When Shaun leaves the Frat party and starts to walk around the campus his hair is messed up. Then he meets Professor Skinner and his hair is neat and parted in the middle. After speaking with the professor about his writing he leaves and his hair is messed again. Revealing mistakes: At the end of the film when Shaun and his friends are on the beach, he decides to take up surfing again. Shaun and his friends pick up their surf boards and run towards the water. However, the sun is setting and the sea is really calm. There are no waves at all, not even a ripple. Continuity: When Shaun goes to ask his father for help in getting into Stanford, his father is wearing a grey sweater. A short while later he is wearing a black shirt. Continuity: When Ashley confronts Tanya about not helping Shaun get in to Stanford Ashley's left hand is placed on her hip. In the next shot, her left arm is down at her side and she now has her right hand on her hip. Continuity: When Don Durkett moves to get close to Shaun while Shaun is seated on the couch, Ashley is on Shaun's right. When the shot switches to show the shot over Shaun's shoulder, Ashley is on his left. The next shot, she's back on his right. Continuity: When Bob rolls down the stairs and hits Arthur Gantner's car, the bandage can be seen. There is no bandage on his head from the view inside the car. In the next shot, the bandage is back again. Continuity: When Tanya is seen with Arlo and Chad at Lonny's memorial, she has no drink in her hand. She then leans over to make-out with Chad and she has a drink in her left hand. SYNC: When 'Lupe' is talking to Colin, The Subtitles read: 'Double pay on weekends?' while her mouth is saying 'OK' Continuity: While at the Dean's house, Ashley asks Shaun about his brother's aspirin (drugs) and Shaun reacts shocked and nervous as if he somehow already knew she gave some to the Dean, but he was out in the car obtaining his transcript when she did that - so obviously he would not have known. CHAR: The kid talking to Ashley at the party mentions that he got 50 bonus points for his use of the word "mazer" in Scrabble. 50 bonus points are awarded only when a player uses all of their letter tiles in a turn. You have 7 letter tiles per turn, so there is no way he could have received the 50 points under the rules of Scrabble. Continuity: When Bud leaves the house to discuss getting a divorce with Krista, there is only one car parked at the house, a Nissan Pathfinder (Shaun's car). There is no car belonging to Bud parked in or around the house. Bud mentions he drives past the house on his way home from work. But where is the car, and how did he get there? Continuity: Cindy wheels Bob out of the house onto the front stoop just before he falls down the front stairs. She is clearly visible beside his chair as he begins to roll. When he hits the car and the camera points towards the front stoop, Ashley is seen standing and watching but Cindy is not on there. CHAR: When Lance is talking about his T-Shirt idea, his hand moves across his chest the opposite way that the words would be going. |

Shaun: I have to go to college. Cindy: Why? Shaun: Because it's what you do after high school. Lance: Do you want me to get naked and start the revolution? Ashley: You know how you told me that every night before you go to bed you'd pray that you'd get into Stanford? Shaun: Yeah? Ashley: Well the other night I prayed for something too. Shaun: What? Ashley: I prayed... that you wouldn't get into Stanford. Shaun: [astonished] Why? Ashley: Well I didn't really think it was gonna work! Principal Harbert: People, June is just around the corner, let's talk graduation speakers. Ideas? Shaun: Toni Morrison, she's in town that same weekend for a book signing. She's won the Nobel Prize. Principal Harbert: Interesting... Dana, didn't you say you have a cousin who was friends with Britney spears? Bud Brumder: A writer? What do you have to write about? You're not oppressed. You're not gay. Shaun: Mom, you know money can't buy happiness... Cindy: Oh grow up, yes it can! Shaun: But you and Dad have money and you're both miserable. Cindy: ...He's miserable? Lonny: Dude, face the fear. Ashley: Look Shaun, I'm sorry you didn't get into Stanford. But if you think that going here is the only way that you can be the person you want to be, well then I just feel sorry for you. Firefighter: What's your name? Lance: Uh, Joe... John... uh, Joe-John. Firefighter: Your name's Joe-John? Lance: John-ston, Johnston. Joe. Firefighter: You wanna tell me what happened here? Lance: Uh, there was a fire, I dunno, I came by and it's... checkin out the fire. Firefighter: Well that lady uh, Mona? She said that you two were in the building together when the fire started. Lance: Yeah, she's a liar, cuz I dunno her so whatever, whatever she says is a lie, so... Firefighter: K, so you're saying you weren't in the building with that woman? Lance: No, not I! Aright, she started it, aright? Because she was like "I hate my job, I'm gonna burn this mother down!" And I said "You better not... you better not!" Firefighter: She said it was an electrical fire. Lance: It was. It was a total electrical fire, it was like uh, the switches had sparks comin out, and the sockets, and uh it was like the 4th of July, man! Firefighter: Why aren't you wearing your pants, Joe? Lance: I tripped, and uh then I had to take 'em off to run faster out of the flames... [coughing] I think I inhaled some smoke, will you excuse me one second, I'll be right back. [runs away in the background] Firefighter: [into walkie talkie] We got a sprinter. Five foot five, no pants, unkempt... portly. Don.Durkett: SEAN! You're my same height, that is neat. Shaun: Lance, I want you to stay in your room. Lance: Why? Shaun: Because you're an embarrassment. Lance: OK! Shaun: Hey guys, what's up? Chad: Hey, what's up dude? Hey dude, check this out. Last night we're at this party, and little Arlo here,he decides to like confess his undying love to me. Did I tell ya he was a fruitcake or what? Arlo: Bro, that's not true. This is the real story dude. Chad crashed at my house right, and I woke up in the night, he wa fondling my... Chad: Dude, I lost my keys. I was looking for 'em. Mr. Burke: Shaun! I read your story. You used a lot of big words. Great! Good for you! It was a little long, so I didn't read the whole thing, but who cares 'cause I gave you an A! Cindy: Is Bob dead? Did something break? Mr. Burke: Hehe poop. Lance: Dude, I never went to college and check me out. I'm kick ass! Shaun: You think you're going to create a T-shirt company? You can't even dress yourself! Bud Brumder: If you do this I will eat your face! Krista: Bud is getting so fat. You should really talk to him, he's going to have a heart attack. Plus he's fat. Mr. Burke: Now, when I say "Romeo and Juliet," who comes to mind? Dana: Claire Danes? Mr. Burke: That's right, Claire Danes. Who else? Chad: Leonardo DiCaprio. Mr. Burke: Right. Who else? Well, you know someone else was involved in that movie who in some ways is as famous as Leonardo Di Caprio. And his name is William Shakespeare. And some great movies have been made based on his plays: Hamlet, West Side Story, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Waterworld, Gladiator, Chocolat... Bud Brumder: [to ex-wife] Sheezus, you look like a beast. Lance: You banged mom? Bud Brumder: What is that smell? What am I sitting in? Cindy: Relax. It's just urine. Bud Brumder: Oh. Bud Brumder: You know your son was being a real brat today, a real pain in the ass. Cindy: My son. Bud Brumder: He said I was selfish. He said that everything's always about me. Cindy: He called me a drama queen, said I was trying to sabotage him. Shaun: What are you doing lying there? Lance: Oh, my parole officer wants to give me a drug test and I need your urine... can I score some of your piss? Shaun: Yeah. Lance: Awesome, man. Shaun: Dude... dude... dude! [Lance stops vaccuming] Where are Bob's pain pills? Lance: Here! Shaun: No, this is Excedrin! Lance: It's a decoy... I put all my stash in bottles... yellow are painkillers, they go in the Excedrin! Shaun: Listen to me, I need Bob's pain pills! Lance: Bob doesn't have any pain pills. Shaun: Yes he does! Lance: Not anymore, I sold them. |
