| Plot: | Television reporter Angela Vidal and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew's videotape. |

FAIR: Power to the building has been cut, yet the elevator still works. One character briefly mentioned that the building has a back-up generator, most likely to assist evacuation during emergencies. A pre-programmed back-up system explains why the elevator stops at each floor, and why the doors take so long to close. Revealing mistakes: Near the end, when Angela and Scott get into the room with lab equipment and newspaper articles on the walls, one article with the headline "Doomsday Cult Suspected in Weapons Lab Break In" is a real article. The real headline is "Dead by 34: How AIDS and Starvation Condemn Zimbabwe's Women to An Early Grave" by Daniel Howden, written Nov 17, 2006. SYNC: When the bio-suited CDC doctors enter the building, you hear the sounds of a self-contained breathing apparatus. However, the doctors are wearing standard gas masks with NBC filters, which are almost silent and don't use an external air supply. CHAR: In the United States, it is illegal for a law enforcement official to order someone not to film or photograph something. Fact errors: Lawrence says the only way to test for rabies is a brain sample; a blood test will not work. A brain sample is the most reliable way to diagnose rabies, but it can also be diagnosed through saliva, urine, or cerebro-spinal fluid samples. Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Randy exits the elevator and is attacked by the rabid German Shepherd, he holds onto the dog's collar from the side, near the back of its head. That means the dog may not have been well trained, and the actor (or stuntman) had to hold the dog in place to keep it from running off the set. The normal reaction would be to push the dog's chest and throat to get it off. Revealing mistakes: The badges the officers are wearing are not LAPD badges. Revealing mistakes: The police uniforms do not have the Los Angeles Police patch on the shoulder areas. PLOT: SPOILER: Most of the people bitten in the building quickly succumb to rabies. Briana, whose dog infected her at least a day earlier, makes it through most of the movie before succumbing. |

Yuri Ivanov: They won't let us out. Scott Percival: The door closed behind me. Jake: So, let's just pretend you're five years old and on fire. Angela Vidal: Did you get that? Scott Percival: Yeah. Griffin: [camera is on him in the shower] You know, I hope that's a wide-angle lens. |
