Continuity: When Richard Straker confronts Susan Norton and Mark Petrie in Straker's house for the first time, Straker takes Norton's gun with his left hand, then Petrie's stake with his right hand. The stake then disappears and reappears in Straker's hand between shots. Continuity: In the final scene in the hospital, the doctor throws the orange hat and we see that it lands on the floor. In the long shot that ends that scene, the hat is on top of a pillow. Fact errors: The action takes place in Maine during winter but in many scenes there are trees such as birches visible with full green foliage. In Maine at that time of the year those trees would have shed their leaves months prior and would appear bare. Fact errors: In some outdoor night scenes crickets and other insects can be heard clearly yet the ground is covered in snow. During Maine winters there are no insects audible at night. Continuity: The police car that Ben passes to go into the homeless shelter has a light bar on it, but when he and Callahan fall out of the window it's gone. Continuity: When Matt confronts Mike Ryerson in his house, Mike's autopsy scars change sides from right to left and back again. Continuity: When Mike rises from the dead and confronts Ben, the autopsy scar on his neck continually changes from the left side to the right between shots. Miscellaneous: When they are in the church, Father Callahan is filling bottles with holy water. He fills one, fills the next and then fills the first one again. Continuity: When Ben, Mark, Fr, Callahan, and Dr. Cody find Mike Ryerson are in the basement of the Marsden house, Ben asks Mark to hand him a stake. He takes the stake with his left hand and is facing Fr. Callahan. In the next shot we see Dr. Cody checking Mike's pulse and behind him Ben is holding a flashlight in his left hand, with nothing in his right, and he is turned toward the doctor. The scene then cuts back onto Ben, who again has the stake. |

Ben Mears: You're a vampire hunter now. Dr. James Cody: We'll be home by midnight? Ben Mears: No, that's Cinderella. Susan Norton: Maybe Barlow is just a regular serial killer? Mark Petrie: You wish. Susan Norton: Now we're stuck with Matt Van Helsing. Dud Rogers: I need some food, Floyd. Dud Rogers: Say, aren't you one of the fellas that bought the Marsten place? Kurt Barlow: Very good. Dud Rogers: Are there any ghosts in that old house? Kurt Barlow: Ghosts? No. No ghosts. Nollie Gardner: Town looks a little dead today. Mark Petrie: [shouting down the stairs] I know your name! It's Barlow! Mark Petrie: [Mark is standing at the entrance to the Marsten House cellar, but he is unable to go farther, despite wanting to help Susan, who is held down there] Susan! Susan Norton: Mark? I can't see, it's so dark. [Barlow bites her offscreen] Ohhhhh... Kurt Barlow: Come down, boy. Mark Petrie: I know your name! Kurt Barlow: I admire you, come down for a taste. Mark Petrie: It's Barlow! Kurt Barlow: There's enough here for two, why would you run, boy? [Mark flees out of a window and out of the Marsten House] Susan Norton: [whispering] I can hear my heart beating. Mark Petrie: I can hear your heart beating, too. Floyd Tibbits: Crockett's paying us a hundred bucks to deliver this crate. If I said to you, Mike, I'd pay you two hundred bucks to come into the Marsten House, alone, at night, would you do it? Mike Ryerson: Hell no. Floyd Tibbits: Me neither. I find that humorous. Ben Mears: The town has secrets, but sees through lies. Even the ones you tell yourself. What are you doing coming back to the place where you lived as a boy? Trying to recapture something that was irrevocably lost? What magic do you expect to recapture by walking roads you once walked and are now probably asphalted... and straightened... and litter-shot with tourist beer cans. Do you even know? |
