| Plot: | Jigsaw has disappeared. Now aided by his new apprentice Amanda, the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Dr. Lynn Denlon is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard. One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped by the deranged Amanda and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw, aka: John Kramer, who's now bedridden and on the verge of death. Lynn is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff, another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that Jigsaw and Amanda have a much bigger plan for both of them... |

Continuity: SPOILER: In the scene just before Amanda shoots Lynn, her gun switches back and forth from between her right and left hand. Continuity: SPOILER: When Amanda is shot in the neck by Jeff, she falls to the floor next to a white cabinet. As the scene continues, the cabinet switches back and forth between having been splashed by her blood, and being perfectly clean. Continuity: When Lynn is operating on John's head, she cuts the skin from the skull and then clips off some veins. Right when she asks Amanda to fill the syringe with alcohol to clean John's head, Lynn turns back to wipe up some of the blood, but there are no clips in place. A shot after that, we see her taking the syringe from Amanda's head and squirting the alcohol on John's head and the clips are there. Continuity: When Dr. Denlon is preparing for Jigsaw's surgery, her hair goes from being tied back, to being out, to being tied back again, within three shots. Continuity: Near the end of the movie, when Amanda's holding Lynn at gunpoint and threatening to kill her, the hand in which she's holding the gun changes with different shot angles. Continuity: When Lynn, the Doctor, is drilling the four holes in Jigsaw's head for the operation, tape is on the drill to mark the maximum depth. The placement of the tape changes positions throughout the scene, between 1/2 inch and 1 1/2 inches. Miscellaneous: After Jeff and the judge get out of the vat of puréed pig they are dry and clean for the rest of the movie. Continuity: SPOILER: When Kerri is in the "angel" trap, before she plummets her hand in the acid, you see her hover her hand above it for a few seconds, but you see her actually touch it just before the cut... yet she doesn't even flinch. Fact errors: When Lynn treats the child's pneumothorax with a drainage, the nurse exclaims that the patient is improving. However, at that moment the monitor shows a ventricular fibrillation (VF), a severe arrhythmia that causes death unless immediately treated. Moreover, the VF spontaneously turns into a stable "normal-beat" heart rhythm without an electrical shock, situation that's almost impossible to see in the clinical practice. Continuity: SPOILER: When Eric is fighting Amanda, and beats her head against the wall, there is no blood on that wall, even when Amanda has blood all over the face. Continuity: SPOILER: Kerry's hand is severely burned by the acid, but all following scenes, her hand shows no burns. Continuity: SPOILER: When Jeff slices Jigsaw's throat using a circular saw, there is no blood on that saw when he drops it to the floor. SYNC: SPOILER: When Amanda fires her gun in the finale (and the repeat shot in the flashback montage), it sounds as if it's silenced, when indeed it isn't. Ironically, this error is rectified when the event is repeated in Saw IV (2007). FAIR: SPOILER: In the "angel" trap, Kerri is told she has to reach in and get the key out of the acid. Right after the tape finished playing, we see Kerri struggle with the chains holding the beaker for a second and then reach into it. This shows us that because of the way the beaker is suspended and the way she is restrained, she is unable to tip the beaker far enough to spill any of the acid. Revealing mistakes: When Lynn is wearing the "Shotgun Collar," close-up/insert shots show the primers on the shotgun shells already discharged. This means the shells had already been fired and would not work. While we could imagine that empty shells were used as containers for explosives, this is inconsistent with the collar's design (hammers are set to strike each cartridge) and effect (the collar, cartridges, and most of the victim above the chin are intact after firing). Continuity: The picture Jigsaw shows of Amanda in the flashback before she is captured and placed in her trap is actually a photo of her from Saw (2004), where she is interrogated about Jigsaw and explains what happened to her *after* she was in the trap. Revealing mistakes: When Jigsaw pulls out the tape player at the end of the movie, his thumb is on top of the tape player, nowhere near the play button on the side of it. However, we distinctly hear a click (as if the play button had just been pressed), and the tape begins to play, even though the play button was never pressed. Continuity: While Kerry is in the angel trap, and the key is first dropped in the acid it automatically begins to bubble immensely. But while the tape plays explaining the game and her objective the key does not bubble there is nothing happening in the jar but immediately after he says in a matter of seconds it bubbles profusely again once the camera focuses on the jar. Continuity: In the original Saw, Cary Elwes's character Dr. Gordon is very clearly blond. However, in the bathroom preparation scene in this film, Elwes's stand-in has very dark hair. Though it is tempting to blame this on the extreme contrast of the shot, Jigsaw's beard still registers as blond. Revealing mistakes: You can visibly see Shawnee Smith bite down on blood capsules while she is being bashed into a wall by Donnie Wahlberg in the director's cut. Continuity: The blood pattern on Lynn's face after the shotgun collar changes from having blood on her chin to not having blood on her chin. |

Just do it quietly so John doesn't hear me die. Otherwise, he is likely to get upset, rip off his heart rate monitor - boom! Then, you just have to find the sensor and disarm it so you can walk more than thirty feet out that door without the collar detonating. Or, you could try and take the collar off yourself. But that could be tricky. The slightest knock in the wrong place could trigger it. I should know. I built it. Amanda: [to Lynn] Let me give you the simple version. You will keep him alive, whatever it takes. No excuses, no equivocations. [whispers] No crying. Amanda: So? Dr. Lynn Denlon: My twenty second analysis without any medical equipment is that his brain is herniating. Amanda: [sarcastically] Oh. Dr. Lynn Denlon: He needs to go to the hospital and have an operation to decompress his brain. Amanda: [whispers] Come here. No, really, come here. Come here. Dr. Lynn Denlon: No. Amanda: [whispers] Let me ask you something. [grabs Lynn by the hair] Did I bring John to you? Or did I bring your self-centered ass to him? [whispers] Now you better start fucking paying attention. No one's going to any hospital. [forcibly lets Lynn go] Dr. Lynn Denlon: I can't perform miracles. You're giving him painkillers - for a tumor like this he needs steroids, prednisones. Amanda: [sarcastically] Oh, good, yeah. [yells] Maybe we could try some corticosteroids, you know, like dexamethasone. Why don't you fucking tell me something that I don't know! Stupid cunt! Jigsaw: Death is a surprise party. Dr. Lynn Denlon: I don't know what you think you know, but my marriage has survived more suffering than someone like you could ever grasp. Jigsaw: Suffering? You haven't seen anything yet. I don't have the tools to save a life. Amanda: [Amanda looks down at the Jawsplitter] You'd be surprised what tools can save a life. [Amanda picks up the Jawsplitter] Jigsaw: I have tried to help you, Amanda. Amanda: Then help me! Fix me! Fix me motherfucker! I'm standing right here! Jigsaw: Matrimony has always fascinated me. Amanda: You chose her because she's the best, right? Jigsaw: That's one reason I chose her. Jeff: [comes into Corbett's room looking for Dylan's stuffed animal] Where is it? Corbett: What? Jeff: [sees her holding it] How many times? How many times do I have to tell you before you get it in your head? Corbett: I just wanted to sleep with something. Jeff: No, no you just nothing! You don't touch things in Dylan's room! Okay? Corbett: I'm sorry, daddy. Jeff: You know I love you, don't you? Corbett: [nods] Yes. Jeff: What do you think mommy would say if she saw us like this? Kerry: [referring to Eric] I really had this feeling it was going to be him. Rigg: Eric is a missing person case not a homicide case. Kerry: I've been having nightmares. I see him! I'm never going be able to forgive myself for what happened. [starts crying] Rigg: Listen, it's not your fault. Kerry: It's always somebody's fault, Rigg. Rigg: But that somebody isn't you. That person is still out there. So put all your anger into finding them and putting them away. Deborah: [to Lynn in the Emergency Room] Look, if you've got something on your mind go upstairs to psych. Just don't bring it in here. We don't have any seconds to spare, Lynn! The woman standing in front of me had to be dragged from the locker room to put a chest tube in a trauma patient. Lynn Denlon should have been the first one there. Jeff: He died in my arms! My 8 year old son died in my arms. Amanda: Are you gonna behave? Rigg: What I don't understand is, how the hell could Jigsaw do all of this? He was damn near on his death bed the last time we saw him. Kerry: I'm not so sure he did. Dr. Lynn Denlon: What is it you want from me, Chris? Chris: A divorce. Danica: Please help! Please? I'm so cold. I can't feel my arms. Jigsaw: It's time to start our game. Amanda: He made it through the second test. The judge is alive. Jigsaw: Faster than I expected. Dr. Lynn Denlon: [before the surgery] Alright, John, I need you to keep your head to the side and keep still. What's going on here is your brain is pushing against your skull. I'm going to try and relieve the pressure by cutting away a little bit of your skull. It should help you with your headaches and drastically improve your motor skills. Do you understand? Jigsaw: All too well. Dr. Lynn Denlon: [injecting medicine] You're going to feel some slight discomfort. Amanda: Are you going to give him a general anesthetic? Dr. Lynn Denlon: For a procedure like this the patient needs to be fully alert. Jigsaw: Put his left leg in the shackle! Jigsaw: Amanda, do not be afraid. Your life has just begun. Dr. Lynn Denlon: [while Amanda is comforting John] He can't hear you. He doesn't even know you're there. Amanda: Right fucking here! Judge Halden: I'm so sorry about your son, Jeff. But let me tell you something that I know for sure. No sentence that I gave him, not 500 years, not even death. Nothing will take your pain away. And vengeance doesn't solve anything. It only makes the pain greater, Jeff. Jigsaw: [after Amanda attacks Lynn] I apologize for her behavior. She swims in my sea. In the end she will be the closest I've ever gone to a connection. To being understood. But her emotion is also her weakness. Amanda: She doesn't deserve to go free! Jigsaw: Don't you think it would be wise to engage me in conversation for your own sake? I asked you to tell me about your husband. Dr. Lynn Denlon: It's like we're strangers now. Jigsaw: And? Dr. Lynn Denlon: The last time I saw him we were so disconnected. But now I'd give anything in the world to see my husband. [cries] |
