Goofs
|
GEOG: The gas station Rose stopped at and passes at the end has gas listed as per liters instead of the American gallons. Continuity: When Christopher and officer Gucci, who's wearing a blue tie and gray trench coat, come out of the building, the camera switches back and forth between Rose and Christopher. When it finally reveals officer Gucci in the background, behind Christopher, we notice he's wearing a different colored tie and trench coat. Continuity: When Christopher pulls up to the police barricade, he steps out of the car soaking wet before any of the rain touches him. Fact errors: The image of West Virginia on Cybil's arm patches is backwards. Continuity: When Christabella drops her dagger after stabbing Rose in the church, it comes to rest with its point touching the floor and its handle slightly raised. When we see it again, it is the tip that is slightly raised so as to drip Rose's blood on the floor. When we see it next, the tip is back on the floor. Fact errors: When Christopher asks about Sharon at the garage, the mechanic is working on a Dodge Magnum with a West Virginia license plate on the front of the car. West Virginia doesn't require, nor is it possible to have, a state license plate on the front of the car. Continuity: When Rose first enters the town of Silent Hill, as she is spinning around yelling for Sharon, a red vehicle can be seen a few feet away behind her. Once she sees Sharon and the camera pans out, the red vehicle is now down the road as she is running towards Sharon. Revealing mistakes: The film is supposed to take place in West Virginia, yet all the local townspeople have distinguishable Canadian accents - the movie's primary filming location. CHAR: On the bridge scene where Chris is talking to the detective, Chris never mentions that his daughter is with Rose. At the end of their discussion the detective says "We'll find your wife and daughter". Continuity: When Cybil and Rose are trapped in the room hiding from Pyramid Head, when he reaches in and starts to pull up bar blocking the door the bar hardly moves. When Cybil shoots his arm and he pulls it back the bar is way up away from the hands. SYNC: In the search for room 111, Rose cuts open the painting and the camera pulls in for a shot of the door and room number behind the painting. You can then hear Rose cutting the painting more to make room for her body, but in the shot, there are no new slices in the painting nor is it even evident that the painting is being disturbed. However, in the next shot, the hole is clearly wider than it was before, the corner shaped differently than it was in the previous image. Revealing mistakes: When Rose is in the bathroom at the old school, she walks over to The Janitor to take something out of his mouth. If you look very closely, when she sticks her hand through the "barbed wire", it grazes her skin and you can plainly see that it is made out of rubber. Revealing mistakes: When Alessa rises into the church to take revenge on the people responsible for her current state (after Rose is stabbed), you can notice that the burnt make up done on her is actually bandage and the bandage has not covered her elbow. Her actual elbow is showing when all of her body parts are suppose to be scarred. Revealing mistakes: As the miners are trying to break down the washroom door, the camera pans over the door frame from Rose's side to the miners' side. Just as it settles into its final position, you can see the sliding wall section they used to allow the camera to pan, sliding back into position on the left of the door frame. Continuity: When Chris arrives at the police barricade, the angle of the gates at the bridge changes a few times between shots. Continuity: When the deformed creature comes out from behind the wire gate and begins to walk over to Cybil and Rose, Cybil puts her left hand up onto her gun twice between shots, before beginning to shoot it. Continuity: When Rose arrives at her Jeep to find her mobile phone, her locket jumps into her blouse between shots. Continuity: When Chris pulls up at the bridge barricade, he gets out and his collar is down. In the very next shot his Burberry collar is sticking right up. Continuity: When Rose first wakes up from the car crash she enters her car and reaches for her phone in the center console of her car. The next frame the phone's lanyard is around her neck. Continuity: When Rose first makes it to Silent Hill she screams out for Sharon as the camera rotates around her. In the first shot her hair is in her face, the next it's not, then it is again. This happens several times between each time the camera rotates. Crew: When Christopher breaks into the Brahams archives offices at about 0:59:45, the clearly visible orange anodized end caps and typical wiring on the fluorescent tubes identify them as Kino-Flo lights, a specialist type manufactured solely for the film industry. The arrangement is quite different to a conventional domestic lighting system. Orange end-caps indicate a tungsten-balanced tube; blue would be daylight. Fact errors: Agent Cybil Bennett uses a Surefire M6 Guardian flashlight that has a temporary tailswitch with a twist on constant switch, but in the movie you can clearly hear the typical click of a click on switch. Continuity: As the long-haired cult member is smothered by Alessa's barbed wire, the ladder that Sharon is supposed to be tied to is clearly visible and Sharon is not there. Revealing mistakes: When Rose first enters Silent Hill, right before the camera starts circling around her, you can see that her locket isn't a locket at all but an oval key chain. Continuity: In the beginning of the movie after Rose saved Sharon, Rose and Sharon are lying beneath a tree. The close up shows Sharon's hair in her face. The next shot from above she has no hair in her face. This is repeated a second time. |

Rose: Honey, sometimes when you go to sleep you go on a little walk. And sometimes you talk about a place called Silent Hill. Sharon: I don't remember. Rose: That's okay honey, that's why we're gonna go there. So you can remember. Dahlia Gillespie: Why didn't she take me? Like the others? Rose: Because you're her mother. Mother is God in the eyes of a child. Anna: Mother needs more food. Rose: Where is my child? Christabella: Only the demon knows where she is. Cybil Bennet: Hey there. Is everything all right? Sharon: I don't talk to strangers. Cybil Bennet: Good girl. Officer Thomas Gucci: What's it gonna be, city boy? I can put you in jail, or you can go home. Christopher DaSilva: And that's your definition of justice, huh? Officer Thomas Gucci: Many different forms of justice, Chris. See, you got man's, God's and even the Devil's. Certain forms you just can't control. Christabella: Look at this map. [points to a map] Christabella: Memorize this [points to a map] Christabella: Your memory may save your life. Rose: [Whispers to herself] Left, right, left, left, right, right... Cybil Bennet: Rose... Rose: Left, left, left, right, left... Cybil Bennet: [Puts hand on Rose's shoulder] Rose. Rose: [Rose mouths] Left... Rose: Right, left, right, left, left Cybil Bennet: [Shakes Rose] ROSE! Rose: [Concentration is broken] Let me do this! I have to do this. Dahlia Gillespie: Fire doesn't cleanse, it blackens! Dahlia Gillespie: Into the fire, she swallowed their hate. Dahlia Gillespie: Do not join the others, they are deceivers, they are damned. Rose: What do you want? Dark Alessa: All we ask for is satisfaction. Rose: Satisfaction? Dark Alessa: Revenge. [smiles evilly] Rose: You burned in the fire that you started and nothing can save you because you're already damned! Cybil Bennet: What the fuck? What the fuck? You saw that right? That was real? What the fuck is going on? Anna: We are wandering far from refuge here... Rose: Let's keep her with us. She's all we've got. Alessa: Look at me, I'm burning. Rose: Your faith brings death! Rose: I'm looking for my daughter. I'm afraid she's been hurt. Dahlia Gillespie: We've all lost our children. Our light. Dahlia Gillespie: Lambs without a shepherd, shepherd without a flock. It is your sins which hold you here! Cybil Bennet: They used to say this place was haunted. Rose: I think they were right. [from trailer] Christabella: To find your daughter, you must face the darkness of Hell. Anna: Filth and lies! Dahlia Gillespie: Evil wakes in vengeance. Be careful what you choose. Christabella: Are you a person of faith? Rose: I love my daughter. Christabella: That's not what I asked. Christabella: The faithful must gather in judgement for we are called to purify this filth. Anna: We have to leave, we have to leave! The Darkness is coming! [last lines] Rose: [on cell phone] Christopher, it's me. I'm with Sharon. Christopher DaSilva: [he hears only static] Hello? Hello? Rose? Rose? Rose: Yeah. We're coming home. [first lines] Rose: Sharon! She's not here! Oh, god. Christopher, can you see anything? Sharon! Sharon! Christabella: Burn her as a witch! Burn Her! Rose: Burn me? That's your answer... Burn anything you're afraid of. Burn anything you can't control. Rose: You're in your own limbo, and God IS NOT here... Christabella: [Stabs Rose] Blasphemer... She was a blasphemer. Anna: Sinners deserve to lose their spawn. Rose: You've darkened the heart of an innocent and now you cower in the face of Alessa's revenge. Dark Alessa: When you're hurt and scared for so long, the fear and pain turn to hate and the hate starts to change the world. Dark Alessa: Now is the End of Days, and I am the Reaper! Christabella: [about Alessa] That child was sin incarnate! Rose: No. It's you who have sinned. Rose: Sharon is adopted, but I'm her mother. I knew that the first time I laid eyes on her. Cybil Bennet: She's lucky to have you. Mother is God in the eyes of a child. |
