| Plot: | It's 1963. Poor little rich girl Lydia and her 14-year-old love child Sam are banished from North Carolina while her powerful father runs for governor. They end up in Wyoming where she parties and Sam finds he's one of only two Grosvant High School students who read. Maury is the other, a pre-pubescent girl wanting to discover what sex is about. She and Sam set out to learn with help from Lydia, who tells them it stops when Maury has her first period. Trouble is, pregnancy comes first. In this small town, what can Maury do? And will Sam have any say? Meantime, Hank Elkrunner, a Blackfoot, falls for the feckless Lydia, while her dictatorial dad keeps tabs on them all from afar. |

Sam Callahan: I accidentally squirted in your daughter and now she's with child. Sam Callahan: Do you practice sex with Dothan? Maurey Pierce: Of course not, silly. He's my boyfriend! Maurey Pierce: All the rules are off today Sam, nothing we do matters. Sam Callahan: I knew where to put it in, but it wouldn't go. I guess I'm too big. Delores: [Laughs] Nobody's *too* big. Maurey Pierce: Be careful, babies aren't like footballs. Sam Callahan: Yeah, they don't travel as far when you kick 'em. Sam Callahan: Will you explain to me about women? Lydia Callahan: Women are right, men are wrong and that's all you need to know. Sam Callahan: You're Licking the mirror. Lydia Callahan: I'm making Contact. Sam Callahan: With who? Lydia Callahan: Myself. Sam Callahan: [voice over] Maurey said being pregnant was wretched; but to tell you the truth, it didn't bother *me* much. Sam Callahan: [voiceover] Somehow, the waitress, the Indian, the cheerleader and the 15-year-old-father will survive. |
