DATE: Carey walks past two railway carriages with the word 'VLine' on them. VLine is the trading name of the State Transport Authority. It was formed in 1983 when the Victorian Railways was split into two organisations. However the film is set in the 1960s and Vline did not exist at this time. DATE: The last scene shows Carey and Wendy on the house roof with the West Gate Bridge in the background. The film is set in the 1960s but construction of the bridge only started in 1968 with the bridge being completed in 1978. Crew: When the Anthony Hopkins character shows his wife the trophy he won at the slot car race, you can clearly see the tape on the rug that marks her spot in the shot. |

[Carey's little brother sees him writing a poem.] Carey's Brother: Hee-hee-hee. Who's Cheryl? Carey: No one you'd know. A model. Carey's Brother: "I wake up with the sun, bright and new. I listen to the sun, and the early morning dew." Dew doesn't make any noise. Carey: What? Look, it's my poem, I can write what I like. Carey's Brother: Just trying to help. If I was you I'd stick to drawing. Wallace: Uh, excuse me, please, I'm looking for Mr. Ball's office. [Robert doesn't respond.] Mr. Ball's office? [No response. He starts to leave.] Robert: Now, what would be your most direct route? Tell you what. Down this corridor, then left after your third door. Wallace: Thank you. [Starts to leave.] Robert: You'll find two passages: one on your left, one on your right. Ignore them -- they're not the ones you want. Your best best would be... the very next one on the right. Wallace: Thank you. [Leaves.] Robert: Or would it? Carey: Are you going to get married? Frank: No, just engaged. |
