GEOG: At the beginning of the movie Jacob reports on picking up an electro-magnetic burst from Maine to England, but the line he follows ends in the North East of England, not the South West - some 270 miles away from Stonehenge. Revealing mistakes: Characters in and around the fake Stonehenge all drive vehicles with the steering wheel on the left. This being England the steering wheel should be on the right. Revealing mistakes: When Jacob first goes into the fake Stone Henge area, he passes a sign that says 'authorize'. Being in England, this should be spelled "authorise". Fact errors: The primary school the scientists base themselves at on Salisbury Plain is called an "Elementary School" (written on the side of the school), a term which does not exist in the UK. Fact errors: The B1 bomber shown at the airbase only had three wheels. The real thing has six wheels under each wing and two up front. Fact errors: Throughout the movie the US flag on General Forshaw's arm is flipped, with the stars on the right. Fact errors: Major Peatman has three 'pips' on his shoulder, this actually donates a captain in the British Army, a major would have a single crown instead of the 'pips'. GEOG: In the background scenery in the scenes showing Stonehenge there are some rather large mountains - not a general feature of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. Fact errors: Major Peatman wears the insignia of a Lt Col, but in the UK armed forces this is not worn on the shoulders but as a tab on the chest. Fact errors: Major Peatman is wearing 3 pips on each shoulder and not 2 crowns, therefore, he is only a Captain. |
