| Plot: | Ben Shockley is a Phoenix cop assigned to go to Las Vegas, so that he can escort a prostitute named Gus Mally who is supposed to testify in a mob trial. Shockley assumes he got the assignment because he can get the job done. But his bosses have been bought off, and the only reason he was chosen was because he is expendable and unreliable. In addition, the Mally doesn't want to go with him because she knows that going along is the equivalent of signing her own death warrant. Odds of their safe arrival are not good, and there is even a line in Vegas on whether they will make it alive. Everyone's out to get them. Traps are everywhere. So Shockley and Gus are forced to rely on instinct and ingenuity if they are going to make it to Phoenix alive. |

Continuity: When Josephson gets on the bus to greet Shockley and Gus at the climax of the film, his glasses disappear and reappear between shots. Crew: When Shockley and Gus walk towards the road after the house shoot out, state troopers are seen holding back crowds that have gathered to see what the gun fire was all about. Continuity: At the beginning credits Shockley gets into his car and drives off past a Penney's department store. He then gets on a freeway and drives around town. After he stops and breaks the bottle of whiskey, you can see the same Penney' store behind him. Continuity: SPOILER: The constable's police cruiser is a 1973 Ford Torino sedan. When the constable is murdered, the police cruiser switches to a Gran Torino. Revealing mistakes: When Shockley tells the remaining bikers to leave a motorcycle for him, he points his revolver at the bikers - but the chambers are obviously empty. Fact errors: SPOILER: In the big final scene, there is no way that police could line up on both sides of the street, and finally surround the bus, and fire over 8,000 shots at the bus and have no stray bullets hit one of the officers. Continuity: In the constable's car, there is a can of Tab sitting on the dash with the bar code side visible in all the head on shots. After Shockley and the constable return to the car from making the phone call the can of Tab is turned around to the front; easy to tell because the bar code box is missing and the Tab lettering is larger. Crew: When the helicopter crashes into the power lines, the copter is obviously a shell. The lack of an engine, and the mechanism where it is tied to the power lines is clearly visible. Continuity: When Mally is giving directions to her house, she says, "Six blocks up, turn left, its the second house on the right." But it clearly shows them turning RIGHT and going to the FIRST house on LEFT. SYNC: When Shockley and Gus are fleeing the black car, the second hole appears in the rear window well before a second shot is heard. Revealing mistakes: When the constable's car swerves wildly and almost goes out of control, the sunglasses case and citation book on the dashboard never move. Continuity: When the constable says that there are about ten miles from the border it is full daylight outside. When they get close to the border it is fully dark. Continuity: When Shockley and Gus leave on the motorcycle, the three bikers he forced to walk are nowhere visible, even though they could not have gotten more than a couple of hundred feet away. Continuity: When Shockley and Gus leave on the motorcycle they go up a slight rise in terrain before turning, but the motorcycle gang had just gone the same way and the terrain was all downhill. PLOT: Even though the route Shockley and Gus was supposedly cleared of all traffic and pedestrians, people can be seen in parking lots along the route and vehicles can be seen crossing intersections just behind them. Continuity: When the bus approaches Josephson, his car is in the middle of the right lane. When they leave him, the car is almost over the line dividing the lanes. Continuity: Between the time Shockley leaves Gus and the time he arrives at city hall, the amount of blood on his forehead varies considerably. Revealing mistakes: From the outside, the windshield on the driver's side is riddled with bullets but from the inside only one hole is visible although the metal sheeting extends almost the width of that windshield. Revealing mistakes: Although hundreds of shots hit all parts of the bus, the tires do not blow out until the bus starts up the stairs - when no more shots are being fired. GEOG: Upon learning that Shockley has hijacked a bus in Wickenburg Arizona and is en route, Blakelock announces that it will be three hours before the bus arrives in Phoenix, 150 miles away. Actually, the two cities are only about 50 miles apart - a distance that can easily be traveled in an hour or so. |

[repeated line] Ben Shockley: Nag, nag, nag. [calmly speaking like a stewardess to the passengers of the hijacked bus, as she is holding a gun] Gus Mally: Sorry for this inconvience, ladies and gentlemen, but at this time, I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave the bus. Please be sure and take all your belongings with you and I promise arrangements will be made for your continued journey as quickly as possable. [Passengers stare at her dumbfounded] Gus Mally: Well? [waves gun and shouts] Gus Mally: HAUL ASS! Ben Shockley: On a scale of one to ten, I'd have to give her a two, and that's because I haven't seen a one before. Gus Mally: You probably don't know if I'm good in bed. Ben Shockley: How's our Assistant D.A. these days? Josephson: Shit! He couldn't convict Hitler. Gus Mally: You cheap shot, gutless bastard! You really get off roughing up girls, don't you? Big man! Big 45 caliber fruit! Ben Shockley: That's me! Constable: Them fellers up there are gonna wonder why you bailed out. And I'm gonna tell 'em. You chose sides. Got yourself a little nookie and chose sides. Blakelock: Now, can you handle it, or do I have to write it out in braille and shove it up your ass? Constable: I got this here buddy, he had the idea one time we'd open up a string of whorehouses and advertise them like them fried chicken places. "Finger lickin' good!" [laughs hysterically] Ben Shockley: Exactly. Reasonable suspicion. I can go anywhere I please if I have reasonable suspicion. Now if I have suspicion a felony's been committed, I can just walk right in here anytime I feel like it, 'cause I got this badge, I got this gun, and I got the love of Jesus right here in my pretty green eyes. Biker: Hey, that's our bikes Charlie! Ben Shockley: And this is my gun Clyde! |
