| Plot: | The world is divided into four kingdoms, each represented by the element they harness, and peace has lasted throughout the realms of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire under the supervision of the Avatar, a link to the spirit world and the only being capable of mastering the use of all four elements. When young Avatar Aang disappears, the Fire Nation launches an attack to eradicate all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination. 100 years pass and current Fire Lord Ozai continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental "bending" abilities in the Earth and Water Kingdoms, while siblings Katara and Sokka from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the ice outside their village. Upon rescuing him, he reveals himself to be Aang, Avatar and last of the Air Nomads. Swearing to protect the Avatar, Katara and Sokka journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master "Waterbending" and eventually fulfill his destiny of once again restoring peace to the world. But as they inch nearer to their goal, the group must evade Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Lord Ozai, Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation's military leader, and the tyrannical onslaught of the evil Fire Lord himself. |

SYNC: After Katara releases Aang from the Ice Sphere, and a huge beam of light shoots to the sky, we see the back of Prince Zuko's head from an angle. Even though we hear Prince Zuko call out to his Uncle, neither his head or the side of his jaw move. Revealing mistakes: In the scene where Aang is trying to waterbend near a brook, when he looks to Katara, who is also waterbending, his expression is one of disappointment, as he is not as good at waterbending as Katara. Yet, if you watch carefully, neither Aang nor Katara are actually doing anything to the water, despite all of their hand movements. It appears as though someone forgot to add special effects to the shot. |

Gran Gran: [from trailer] He will need you... and we all need him. Sokka: [from trailer] I taught him that... Uncle Iroh: [to Zuko, after Aang has escaped] It was not by chance that for generations people have been searching for him, and now you have found him. Your destinies are tied, Zuko. Aang: I will stop them. Dragon Spirit: I know you will try... Sokka: [from trailer] [jumping up and down] Woohoo! Aang: Some great monks can meditate for four days! Commander Zhao: Again, I offer my condolences on your nephew burning to death in that terrible accident. Commander Zhao: Wake up, young man. I am Commander Zhao. I set this trap for you. Sokka: [preparing to fight] Everybody can help us now! Aang: [discovering Monk Gyatso's remains] This is the necklace I made for Gyatso. Katara: [to Zuko about Aang] I won't let you take him. Katara: Aang? Can you hear me? I knew you were real. I always knew you'd return. Sokka: [to Katara] I don't think you've noticed, but we've started a rebillion. Uncle Iroh: [to Zuko about Aang] It was not by chance that for generations people have been searching for him, and now you have found him. Uncle Iroh: There are reasons each of us are born. we have to find those reasons. Princess Yue: We have to show them that we believe in our beliefs as much as they believe in theirs. Prince Zuko: [preparing to fight] Who are you? Katara: My name is Katara. And I'm the only Waterbender left in the Southern Water Tribe. Prince Zuko: [after Aang has completed the test] You are my prisoner. Aang: What? But you said... Uncle Iroh: I should have explained more. If you failed the test, you'd be free to go. But you're the only one who has been able to pass the test. It is an honor to be in your presence. [bowing slightly] Katara: What would you do if the Fire Nation took me away? Sokka: Kill them all. I promised Dad I would protect you with my life. Uncle Iroh: There are a lot of pretty girls here Zuko. You could settle down here, and you could have a blessed life. You don't have to continue this Zuko. Prince Zuko: I will show you why we must Uncle. Hey, hey little one, come here. You look like a very smart boy. Tell me what you know about the Prince; the Firelord's son. He spoke out of turn to a general, in defense... for some of his friends, who were going to be sacrificed in a battle. Then Prince Zuko was sentenced to an Agni Kai duel, but when he showed up, it was his father he was to fight. He would not fight his father. Then, his father mocked him, and said, I should bring your sister over here to beat you. Then the father burnt his son, to teach him a lesson. We'll catch him soon Uncle, then we could think about the pretty girls. Katara: [to Aang as the Water Nation bows to Aang] They want you to be their avatar... We all do. [Bows to Aang] Aang: [to Zuko] We could be friends, you know. Aang: Earthbenders! Why are you acting this way? You are powerful and amazing people! You don't need to live like this! There is earth right beneath your feet! The ground is an extension of who you are! Gran Gran: He will begin to change hearts, and it is in the heart that all wars are won. Uncle Iroh: To meet a Spirit would be a great honor. Commander Zhao: I hope I can give you that honor. Uncle Iroh: Be sure to keep your uniform closed up to the neck, and remember, your chi can warm you. Commander Zhao: I can leave soldiers hidden in certain locations. Fire Lord Ozai: You think my son is this person the soldiers are calling the Blue Spirit? Commander Zhao: Yes. |
