Goofs

Continuity: In the tank scene, the gunshots are on one side of the tank. However, when Claymore locks the door, there are gunshot holes beside the door. This is further shown to be wrong when The Shadow breathes through the bullet holes. He has to swim across the filled tank to get back to the door. However, when Margo arrives at the door, there are bullet holes right next to her.
Continuity: During the investigation of the murder at the museum, a policeman working for The Shadow alternately wears his "Shadow" ring on his right/left hand as he leaves to send a message to The Shadow (the establishing shot shows it to be worn on his right hand).
Continuity: When Dr. Lane and his daughter are disarming the bomb in the elevator shaft, the yellow wire that Dr. Lane cut earlier in Khan's throne-room is still in one piece.
Fact errors: While hanging from the top of the Empire State Building, the sailor looks straight down the side of the building, which is shown to be flat. This is wrong. From the observation deck, there is another level that sticks out below, where the lights that shine upwards are stored.
SYNC: When Margo yells at her father while he is disarming the bomb, her lips say "Pick one!" before her voice says it.
Crew: At the start of the fight on the balcony, when the Shadow lifts one of Khan's men by his helmet, you can see the wires pulling the guy off his feet.
Continuity: While Lamont and Moe are talking about Margo Lane, the cab they are in is driving towards a building. Just as they reach the point where they must turn either left or right, we cut to a view out of the rear window. We never see the cab turning, so we have to assume it drove straight through the building.
Revealing mistakes: When Farley Claymore goes mad in the hotel attempting to kill the Shadow, the torch in his hand does not move in time with the light on the ceiling.
Fact errors: While Moe's cab's design is based on a Cord automobile, it appears to have been built on a rear-wheel-drive chassis, based on its handling. The Cord was front-wheel-drive.
Fact errors: When Lamont is trapped in the giant water tank he dives down to bottom to breathe from bullet holes shot in wall. Air bubbles are seen coming in from outside. This would be impossible given the enormous water pressure that would be expected within the tank. If anything water should be able to cause a slight suction in the general bullet hole area. Instead Lamont is also able to stick his finger through without much problem either. Not to mention on exterior view of tank water is not seen pouring out in a spout at all.
Continuity: The Shadow tells Dr Roy Tam, "Mr Schrevnitz here will instruct you in the way I will contact you if I need your help." The Shadow then gives the instructions himself.
Continuity: When Margo Lane arrives to rescue The Shadow from the water tank, a distant shot shows no water leaking out of the bullet holes Farley Claymore made. But when she's right by the door, water can clearly be seen leaking out.
Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Shiwan Khan is stabbed and he reels, breaking the windows behind him, the top of the backdrop is visible when the lightning flashes.
Continuity: When Barth and Lamont are having dinner, after Lamont rushes out you see Barth take two sips of his martini. In the first sip the drink is almost empty. The next sip is from an almost half full glass.
Continuity: When the Shadow's taxi first arrives in front of the Cobalt Club, it comes to a stop directly in front of the door. Another car can be seen to its Left, coming to a stop immediately beside it. The shot then cuts to a camera directly across the street from the club door, and the 2nd car is gone, allowing a full side view of the taxi.
DATE: Khan causes a sailor to climb over the security fence and jump from the Empire State Building committing suicide. The movie is set in the 1930s. The fence was not added until 1947.
Continuity: When Margo and Dr. Lane arrive to disarm the bomb (which is hanging from a chain), the moving floor is still. Yet, when the bomb falls off of the chain, and rolls away, the floor is spinning (at a reasonably high rate of speed).
DATE: The wire insulation on the bomb is modern day plastics not the correct cloth type for the day, and the nylon wire ties wouldn't be invented for another 30 years or so.
Revealing mistakes: The two door guards with an elevator in front of them are shot with arrows. When the second guard gets shot, it's obvious that the arrow isn't fired but appears from under his coat (released with a spring).
Continuity: When Dr. Tam draws the design of the atomic bomb on the board, he only wipes away a small section of top-middle of the board (a circled ST can still be seen as he puts down the duster and picks up the chalk). When he finishes drawing the bomb design, everything that was originally on the middle of the board has been wiped and replaced with the bomb design.
Continuity: When Lamont Cranston gets out of the cab and notices that he is being followed by one of Shiwan Khan soldiers, he walks into a dark alley and both he and his shadow disappear, but it was established in the beginning of the movie that the only thing he can never hide is his shadow.

Quotes

The Shadow: I saved your life, Roy Tam. It now belongs to me.
Dr. Roy Tam: It does?
Margo Lane: Oh, God I dreamed.
Lamont Cranston: So did I. What did you dream?
Margo Lane: I was lying naked on a beach in the South Seas. The tide
was coming up to my toes. The sun was beating down. My skin hot and
cool at the same time. It was wonderful. What was yours?
Lamont Cranston: I dreamed I tore all the skin off my face and was
somebody else underneath.
Margo Lane: You have problems.
Lamont Cranston: I'm aware of that.
[repeated line]
Moe Shrevnitz: Somebody's coming.
Shiwan Khan: Your mind is like an open book to me!
Lamont Cranston: Then learn how to read!
Lamont Cranston: You are a barbarian.
Shiwan Khan: Thank you.
Shiwan Khan: In three days, the entire world will hear my roar, and
willingly fall subject to the lost empire of Shan Kahn. That is a
lovely tie, by the way. May I ask where you acquire it
Lamont Cranston: Brooks Brothers.
Shiwan Khan: Is that mid-town.
Lamont Cranston: 45th and Madison. You are a barbarian.
Shiwan Khan: Thank you. We both are.
Margo Lane: We need each other.
Lamont Cranston: No we don't.
Margo Lane: We have a connection.
Lamont Cranston: No we don't.
Margo Lane: Then how can you explain that I can read your thoughts?
Lamont Cranston: My thoughts are hard to miss.
Margo Lane: And why is that?
Lamont Cranston: Psychically, I'm very well endowed.
Margo Lane: I'll bet you are.
Dr. Roy Tam: I guess you would call it an implosive-explosive
sub-molecular device.
Lamont Cranston: Or an Atomic Bomb.
Dr. Roy Tam: Hey, that's catchy.
Lamont Cranston: Am I in hell?
Tulku: Not yet.
Tibetan Kidnapper: The clouded mind sees nothing
Lamont Cranston: I'll see you later
Margo Lane: Hey, how'll you know where I am?
Lamont Cranston: I'll know
The Shadow: The weed of crime bears bitter fruit.
Farley Claymore: There's a new world order coming, Shadow, and I'm
going to be a king! A KING!
The Shadow: I'll be there... around every corner... in every empty
room... as inevitable as your guilty conscience...
Lamont Cranston: The sun is shining...
Dr. Roy Tam: [finishing the code phrase of The Shadow] But the ice is
slippery.
Dr. Roy Tam: You're an agent of The Shadow!
Lamont Cranston: [feigning ignorance] Who?
Moe Shrevnitz: [puts a ring from the Shadow on Tam's finger] Don't
ever take it off.
Dr. Roy Tam: [confused] Who *are* you?
Moe Shrevnitz: [holds up his hand with an identical ring on it]
Somebody who owes him their life... somebody just like *you*.
Lamont Cranston: Do you have *any* *idea* who you just kidnapped?
Tulku: Cranston; Lamont Cranston.
Lamont Cranston: You know my real name?
Tulku: Yes. I also know that for as long as you can remember, you
struggled against your own black heart and always lost. You watched
your sprit, your very face change as the beast claws its way out
from within you. You are in great pain, aren't you? [Cranston leaps
at the Tulku, who magically vanishes and reappears] You know what
evil lurks in the hearts of men, for you have seen that evil in
your own heart. Every man pays a price for redemption; this is
yours.
Lamont Cranston: I'm not lookin' for redemption!
Tulku: You have no choice: you *will* be redeemed, because I will
teach you to use your black shadow to fight evil.
Dr. Reinhardt Lane: Oh what the heck, it's always green. [starts to
cut the red wire]
Margo Lane: NO! [bomb deactivates, holds a green wire] That is red!
THIS is green!
Dr. Roy Tam: How did you know where to find me? How did you know who
I am?
The Shadow: [begins to laugh] The Shadow knows!
Margo Lane: [as Lamont walks away to become The Shadow] Wait! How
will you know where I am?
Lamont Cranston: [turns to answer] *I'll* know!
