| Plot: | Carmen Lowell is working on the backstage of a play in Yale. When the lead actress and friend Julia invites her to travel to Vermont with her to work in a play with professional cast, she decides to stay with her friends and her pregnant mother. However she finds that Lena Kaligaris will travel to a course of drawing. Bridget Vreeland is in existential crisis missing her mother and decides to travel to an archaeological dig in Turkey. Tibby Tomko-Rollins is working in a rental and still editing her documentary. Therefore, Carmen accepts the invitation and travels to Vermont. She has a crush on the lead actor Ian, who convinces her to participate in an audition, and is invited by the director Bill Kerr to perform the lead female role. Later she finds the truth about the friendship of Julia. The broken-hearted Lena finds that Kostas has just married and she dates the model of her class. Bridget finds letters addressed to her from her grandmother that her father has hidden and she decides to visit her grandma, disclosing a secret about her mother. Tibby makes love with her boy-friend Brian McBrian but they have problems with the condom and she gets scared of a possible pregnancy. In the end, the girlfriends discover that their friendship is real and more than a pair of jeans. |

Continuity: When Carmen is packing and speaking to Julia, she puts the same red leather portfolio in her bag twice. Continuity: When Bridget is talking to her grandmother on her bed during the thunderstorm, a section of her hair on her right side is pulled behind her ear and not pulled behind her ear many times. FAIR: When Lena is at the funeral in the beginning of the movie, for someone of the Greek Orthodox faith, she makes the correct sign of the cross. The Greek Orthodox Church crosses itself from right to left rather then Roman Catholic left to right. Continuity: When Tibby is talking to Brian on his porch she has some of her bangs in front of her ear, then when the shot changes she has her bangs completely pulled back. Brian did pull back part of her bangs but ONLY part so some people may not notice but actually, its not just her bangs behind her ear, they're pulled up into her pony tail. Continuity: When Lena and Leo are talking during the rooftop "restaurant" scene, Leo is sitting up, with his arms forward, but when the camera pulls back suddenly he is leaning back, on his elbow. Fact errors: In the soccer match for Brown University one of Brigett Vreeland team-mate has Blue Adidas soccer shoes on. Brown University only would wear black or white soccer shoes. Revealing mistakes: When Bridget finds the letters from Greta in her dad's basement that her father had hidden from her, there is no USPS cancellation stamp printed over any of the postage stamps. This would indicate the letters were intercepted before they were mailed. Since Greta lives in Alabama, this doesn't seem possible. Fact errors: In rehearsals, actors are shown holding scripts from Samuel French. The Winter's Tale is a public domain play and not carried by Samuel French. Continuity: When Lena is in bed in Greece, the lighting on her face changes inconsistently between shots. From some camera angles, the light is coming from her left; from others, it is coming from her right; in at least one, there is light on both sides. |

[from trailer] Tibby: So Kostos isn't married. Why can't you just stop thinking about it and follow your heart? Lena: Because... he broke my heart! Kostos: We are no good at not loving each other... Lena: I tried. I tried, but I couldn't. Kostos: I tried too... Tibby: I just fell off a *donkey*! Tibby: Are you sure it was a real one? Brian McBrian: Yes, I'm sure! My uncle gave it to me for graduation, I was saving it. Tibby: For two years? Tibby: I'm sorry! I didn't get the memo that you were in Ala-frickin'-bama! Lena: How do you say "lost pants" in Greek? Yia Yia: Greek girls do not lose their pants! Bridget Vreeland: The past is always with us - so it's time I stopped running. Bridget Vreeland: You fix your own car? Greta: Cars are easy- it's people you need a manuel for. Leo: Interesting jeans, Lena. Lena: Oh... Yeah. It's a long story. Leo: I like long stories... Well, maybe you could tell me over dinner sometime. Lena: I like dinner. Leo: Yeah? Lena: Yeah. Leo: Great. Tibby: [having just fallen off a donkey] Awww, that's gonna leave a mark... Julia: Oh, so this is the video store girl? Tibby: Video store girl? Carmen Lowell: Sometimes I like to think that the pants got lost on purpose. That this was their final gift to us. Bringing us back together. Back to a place of forgiveness, and love, and in understanding that what we shared was all the magic we could ever need. And as we spent those last few moments of summer, looking out at the blending of sea and sky, I realized it was a color I knew very well. The softly faded, essential blue of a well worn pair of pants. The pants had brought us together again. The rest is in our hands. Brian McBrian: You need to have a little faith, Tibby. Not everyone you love is going to leave you. Tibby: The problem is every time I try to get close to somebody it's like there's something out there that just says oh Tibby's about to be happy, better get her. Tibby: There is a tourist with the pants and he's at the restaurant. So if we go to the restaurant, we'll find this particular tourist with the jeans who might be there. Will probably be there. He'll be there. Bridget Vreeland: Sorry. It must have been lost along with Tibby has a pregnancy scare! Leo: [to Lena when they met] I'm guessing you're a virgin. Ian: You welcome. Carmen Lowell: [sarcastic] Oh, I'm sorry. Did I forget to say thank you?... Thank you. Ian: How do you feel? Carmen Lowell: Like a fake. Ian: Oh, please! You had them at "Um... hi" [after finishing the play] Ian: Carmen, that was incredible! [Carmen kisses Ian] Ian: Sometimes words fail... [He kisses her back] [while stuidying for the play] Carmen Lowell: "Oh, Lady Fortune! Stand you auspicious!" God! Why don't people talk like this anymore? It's just, we've gotten so lazy! We don't say "Oh, Lady Fortune! Stand you auspiscious!" We say "Dear God, help me..." Ian: Or instead of "Enjoy the honey heavy-dew of slumber", "Yo, get some Z's" Carmen Lowell: It's just... It sounds so good and it feels so good to say. It's rich and luscious. [Carmen touches her cheek] Ian: "See how she lays her cheek upon her hand. Oh, that I were a glove upon her hand and I might touch that cheek" [Carmen blushes] Ian: See what I mean? Carmen Lowell: [blushing] Yeah... |
