| Plot: | In New York, the experienced art thief, Keith Ripley, invites the bold thief from Miami, Gabriel Martin, to team up with him. He plans the heist of two valuable mysterious antique Faberge eggs, located in a safe, of the well protected Russian jewelry Romanov. Each egg is worth twenty million dollars on the black market, and Ripley needs his cut to free himself from his debt to a powerful mobster, known as Nicky. The reluctant Gabriel agrees to participate, after having a one night stand with Ripley's goddaughter Alexandra Karolin. Meanwhile, the persistent Lieutenant Weber, who has unsuccessfully tried to put Ripley in jail for twenty years, figures out how to anticipate the movements of the criminal in order to catch him. |

Continuity: Whilst they are drilling in the vault, Banderas looks at his watch and the timer is counting upwards. However minutes later when Banderas and Freeman recheck their watches this time they are both correctly counting down. GEOG: Subway scenes (supposedly in the New York City subway) were filmed in the Sofia metro, with Soviet-made 81-714.2 subway cars. Continuity: During the Vault scene the shots switch between Freeman and Banderas: in one shot Freeman's earpiece is in his ear, then it is not, then in the shot following that it's back in again. Crew: When Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas are talking on the rooftop you can easily see in Gabriel's sunglasses the microphone and the cameras. Revealing mistakes: An ultrasound transducer was placed in the first Vault in order to block the sensors but when the second Vault is open it can be seen behind them that the transducer is missing. Revealing mistakes: When Martin ('Antonio Banderas') and Ripley ('Morgan Freeman') are in the subway together and Martin takes out the iPhone to mark the spot on the wall, you can see by pausing the movie that he just clicks on the Photo application and then the lock room's plant suddenly pops up out. Revealing mistakes: After the alarm went off, several subtitles in English are displayed. One of them is "Yes, in subway. Keep us posted. Out." but instead "Keep us posted" head of security actually sad "Stay at your position". Continuity: During the scene where Keith and Gabriel are trying to "crack the code" to the inner vault, on the last digit, Keith tells Gabriel to type "1", and the number reads 827145369, Gabriel stops to think and just as Gabriel type "9", the number now reads 827145396. Continuity: When at the party they use the iPhone to see the transmitted video feed from the camera in the buttonhole. In the close up you can clearly see the home button on the left but in the very next scene the phone has turned around. Continuity: When trying to open the vault Martin (Antonio Banderas) looks at his wristwatch twice. The first time the time runs up like in a stopwatch from 16 minutes on. The second time the time runs down like a countdown from 12 minutes down. |

Keith Ripley: What the fuck are you doing? Gabriel Martin: Improvising. Keith Ripley: Some people were born to compose music. Others to split the atom. I was born to steal shit. Lt. Weber: Where the hell's my man? Keith Ripley: Lieutenant... your personal life, none of my business. [last lines] Gabriel Martin: I want to know, was it all lies? Alexandra Korolenko: Not the part that matters. Gabriel Martin: It was true. Alexandra Korolenko: [giggles] Gabriel Martin: That was real. That was real, finally. [First Line] [In Dutch with subtitles] Joost: The Russians think they own the world now. [Last Line] Gabriel Martin: I wanted to... I want to know. Was it all lies? Alexandra Korolenko: Not the part that matters... |
