| Plot: | Derek Thompson is 'The Tooth Fairy,' a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster's hopes, he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings and magic wand. At first, Derek "can't handle the tooth" - bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers' homes...doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams |

Revealing mistakes: A puck flying through the air will spin, no matter what is on it. But in the close up on the climactic shot, it doesn't show the puck spinning. Continuity: The flight instructor picks up his tennis racket twice without putting it down in-between. Continuity: Just before pushing Tracy, Derek's right wing disappears then reappears two shots later. Revealing mistakes: (At 3:55) When the kids are asking for Mr. Thompson's autograph, you can plainly here many of the kids yelling "Mr. Johnson", quite possibly in reference to the fact that 'Dwayne Johnson' plays Thompson / The Tooth Fairy. Continuity: When Jerry is showing Derek how to use the memory eraser during his job as the Tooth Fairy, when they show a shot from behind his whole arm is there, but when they show a shot from the front part of his arm is missing. Continuity: (At 33:30) When Derek went to the kid's room past the cat, there is no toy alligator, but after he starts to climb up to bed there is now a toy alligator which he falls on. Continuity: Toward the beginning of the movie, Derek Thompson knocks out an opposing player's tooth. As it flies up, it is clearly visible that it is a molar. When the players face is shown, he is missing an incisor, not a molar. Continuity: When Thompson gets into a fight with Tracy, his social worker, in one frame, he lacks his right wing, in the next frame he has it back. Fact errors: Derek's car is shown with his vanity license plate "#1 Tooth" on both the front and back of his car. In Michigan, license plates are only on the back. Continuity: When Derek goes with Randy to a music store for searching a new guitar, Randy decides a red-wine-red guitar. Later the scenes when Randy practices and the scene when he crashes the guitar, the one is cyan-blue. Then when Derek restores the destroyed guitar with his fairy-magic and Randy's talent-show appearance, the guitar is red-wine-red again. |
Quotes
|
Derek Thompson: You can't handle the Tooth! And that's the Tooth, the whole Tooth and nothing but the Tooth! I pledge allegiance to the Tooth. Derek Thompson: I'm the Tooth Fairy. Randy: Thought you said you were a vampire. You got some inconsistent mythology. Derek Thompson: Does this tutu make my butt look big? Lily: Yes. |
