| Plot: | In Colombia, terrorist Luis Cali has taken over the Palace of Justice. Luis throws a woman off a balcony to her death and dumps a judge from a helicopter in order to make his point. Luis is angry because the US government has kidnapped his drug kingpin father Enrique Cali and transported Enrique to the USA to stand trial. The Regis School, in Virginia, is a boarding school where the wealthy dump their delinquent teenagers when they've been kicked out of everywhere else. These troubled heirs are presided over by their superiors -- Dean Parker and the headmaster. Phil Donoghue, one of the students, is the son of the federal judge who is presiding over Enrique's trial. A pair of deputy United States Marshals take Phil out of the school so Phil and his family can be placed somewhere safe while judge Donoghue presides over the trial. When Luis later takes the school hostage, looking for Phil and demanding Enrique's release, problem student Billy Tepper and his friends Joey Trotta, Hank Giles, Ricardo Montoya, Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry, and Derek decide to fight back against Luis. Snuffy's father Steven is the chairman of the First Empire Bank of New York, and vice chairman of the republican party. Hank's father is representative Henry Giles Jr, chairman of the Armed Services Committee. Joey's father is New York mob boss Albert Trotta. Ricardo's father is a senior partner at an elite law firm, and is a former president of the California Bar Association, and Billy's father is the owner of the third largest construction company in the world. Luis has had his men place explosives all over the school, and Luis has vowed that he'll blow the place up if Enrique is not released. |

Continuity: The banana that Billy Tepper eats. FAIR: The bathroom door appears to open both ways even though the jamb has a stop; in fact, it's a double door. Continuity: The size of the hole in the window of the door. Crew: Shadow of the camera is visible when the kids all hug Billy at the end of the film. Crew: Shadow of the camera is visible when moving around the furniture in the garden. Continuity: In the first shot you see the paint running down the "S" of the school sign but in the next shot you see the "S" is dry. Revealing mistakes: When Snuffy finishes his second fake asthma attack, it cuts to a scene of people looking down at him, Luis Cali can clearly be seen glancing upwards and to the left for a brief moment. He's looking at the director to see if the scene's over, then, he snaps his attention back to Snuffy. Continuity: A terrorist shoots the phone booths as a student is calling 911. At the end of the film, when Cali is dragging Billy to the office, the phone booths are undamaged. Continuity: At the end of the film, Billy can be seen running over Montoya's shoulder, yet over Giles' shoulder, he's not there. SYNC: When Cali shoots the teacher, there's no muzzle flash or smoke to indicate the weapon was fired, yet the sound is heard. Continuity: At the end of the film, when Billy is running, Hummers are not present, then parked, then just arriving. SYNC: When Cali fires his pistol at the Soldiers trying to get into the headmaster's office while holding onto Billy, there are more shots heard than are actually fired. Revealing mistakes: The gas flame used to simulate muzzle flash can be seen coming out of the 30mm chain gun on the Apache attack helicopters. SYNC: When the Blackhawk helicopter comes into a hover over the quad, muzzle flashes from the guns of the terrorists on the steps can be seen, but no shots are heard. Revealing mistakes: There's a slight delay between when the two terrorists on the rooftop get hit by the snipers' shots and when they actually jerk and fall from the hits. Continuity: SPOILER: When Joey is shot, more bullet holes are shown than shots, they disappear then appear again. CHAR: During the final battle when the 2 black hawks are on the round and about to lift off you see a soldier fall over on the left of the screen, possibly from the downdraft of the helicopter Revealing mistakes: When the terrorists first arrive at the school, and the American terrorist enters the cafeteria and shoots at the ceiling, you can see the dust drop from the ceiling before he actually fires the gun. Revealing mistakes: After the terrorists drop the judge from the helicopter at the beginning, you can clearly see he's wearing a black parachute. CHAR: When the terrorists first enter the school and shoot the ceiling, the man with glasses fumbles putting the clip back in the gun. A well trained Colombian terrorist would have no difficulty in reloading a weapon he is so comfortable using. CHAR: When Cali commands one of the other terrorists to fire a bazooka at an approaching police car, he yells "Fuego!" into the walkie talkie. But "fuego" is the Spanish word for the noun "fire", not the verb "to fire". A Spanish-speaking Columbian never would have made such a mistake. Continuity: When Billy Tepper is being beaten, he's being held at his head, so the lacerations should be vertical (parallel to his spine); when he lifts his shirt later, they're horizontal, as if he were beaten from the side. Continuity: In the events leading up to, during and after the final battle scenes, the character Ted's outfit changes several times. In some scenes he is wearing jeans with a brown open shirt and cap and in others he is seen in jeans and a red and white checked shirt. Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: The wire that fires off the bullet-hit squibs under Trotta's shirt is pulled out of his right jeans leg as he falls. CHAR: Luis Cali is told that there is a power failure affecting the whole county (to keep him from seeing the news about his father on TV). However, two scenes later, the lights are on over the sinks and on the ceiling in the bathroom adjoining the school dining room. Revealing mistakes: The wire used to pull the airplane straight upward is visible in the final battle scene. Revealing mistakes: A mat that protects Sean Astin's arm is visible when Billy is lying down on the ground. CHAR: When they take Enrique Cali out of his cell the Guards Shackle his hands and feet. When they put the leg irons on him you can see he has shoe laces on. No jail or prison would allow inmates to retain or have shoe laces as they can be used for suicide or as weapons (strangling someone). Revealing mistakes: When the terrorists arrive at the school, they shoot the guard at the gate. If you look at the back of the guard there is a blood packet clearly visible. |

Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: Man, this stuff is great. It's opening up my lungs, it's making me breathe easier. Ricardo Montoya: Evidently it's making you fart easier, too. Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: I didn't fart. Ricardo Montoya: It's the first rule of prep school etiquette. When you're in a basement with no windows, don't fart. Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: No, the first rule of prep school etiquette is to pretend you're asleep when your roommate's beating off. Henry "Hank" Giles, III: No, the first rule of prep school etiquette is to wait until your roommate falls asleep before beating off. Dean Parker: Do you think you're the first kid to put liquor in mouthwash bottles? It was done in my day. I may have even done it myself. Luis Cali: What does your father do, William? William "Billy" Tepper: He's a contractor. Luis Cali: According to this he owns the third largest construction company in the world. William "Billy" Tepper: Yeah, he's a contractor. William "Billy" Tepper: Come on man, get up. We've gotta strike back or I'm going to look like a douche bag in front of the entire school. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: You were born looking like a douche bag. William "Billy" Tepper: Great, the school gets taken over by terrorists and I'm still on pots and pans. Derek 'Yogurt': I'm Derek and he's Ted, and, yes, this is OUR room. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: Not anymore. Frank Ingram, Guard: Dean's waiting for you guys back in your room. William "Billy" Tepper: Pleasure knowing you. William "Billy" Tepper: All right, what now? Derek 'Yogurt': All right, all right. Very, very carefully take the red chip out of the receiver. William "Billy" Tepper: There is no red chip. Derek 'Yogurt': There must be. William "Billy" Tepper: Well I'm sorry, there isn't. There's a blue chip the same size as the red chip, but there's no red chip. Derek 'Yogurt': That must be it then. William "Billy" Tepper: Well is it, or isn't it? Derek 'Yogurt': I don't know. Henry "Hank" Giles III: Mouthwash? William "Billy" Tepper: Yes, mouthwash... but maybe not. Henry "Hank" Giles III: What's the deal, Billy? Are you trying to tell me my breath stinks? William "Billy" Tepper: I wasn't saying your breath stinks. Why do you take everything so personally? Damn, Hank. William "Billy" Tepper: Gentlemen, here's to Mr. Donohugue. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: Yes, to Phil. May he get laid while on the outside. Henry "Hank" Giles, III: This had better not be mouthwash. William "Billy" Tepper: Trust me. Henry "Hank" Giles, III: [after drinking] Trust me... Asshole, this is mouthwash. Jennifer: Oh, tell me what you look like. William "Billy" Tepper: Uh, well... I've got blonde hair, and um, I wear an earring in my left ear, I'm about 5'9", 150 pounds... did I mention I'm black? William "Billy" Tepper: If you're going to kick me out, kick me out. Don't make me look like a nark to my friends. Dean Parker: If we expelled you that would make four prep schools in four years. Are you trying for the Guinness Book of Records? Dean Parker: I'm not going to expel you. Three schools have done that and it's obviously done nothing for your character... I'm going to do much worse. I am going to keep you here until you graduate. It'll probably take years at this rate. William "Billy" Tepper: I might wear you out before then. Dean Parker: Oh don't you worry about wearing me out. I'm going to wear you out. Headmaster: Try not to laugh. Dean Parker: I'm trying. Luis Cali: Do you speak Spanish? Ricardo Montoya: No, not really. Luis Cali: [in Spanish] Put a bullet in him. Ricardo Montoya: No, wait. Luis Cali: Wait? What? You don't speak Spanish. Henry "Hank" Giles, III: Well, we managed to stay together anyways. Ricardo Montoya: Yeah, that's my ambition in life - to die with you guys. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: We can't just sit by and let these bastards fuck with our lives. Henry "Hank" Giles, III: Do we have a choice? Joseph "Joey" Trotta: Yes. Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: Um, guys? Can we change the subject? I'd like to go to bed without wetting my pants. Ricardo Montoya: You can't smoke in the dorms. Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: What are they going to do? Kick me out? Joey: There's one of them at the end of the hall. Billy: Yeah? Joey: So we make some noise and we get him in here and then we jump him. Billy: Then what? Joey: Billy. He's got a fucking machine gun. With a fucking machine gun we can shred these fuckers. Jonathan: You know, this machine gun stuff must run in Mafia families. William "Billy" Tepper: What kind of stuff do they have? Student: What do you mean? What stuff? William "Billy" Tepper: Guns, grenades, that kind of stuff. Student: Man, they've got tons of it, all kinds. A big machine gun... Wait a minute. I'm not going to get in trouble for this, am I? William "Billy" Tepper: Don't be a wuss. Derek 'Yogurt': Of course, the reverse is also true. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: What the hell do you mean the reverse is also true? Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: Oh yeah, that's wonderful. Now all we have to do is get Cali out of the Headmaster's Office which he hardly ever leaves, sneak past the guard, switch the chips without setting off them bombs, and then get out without being seen. William "Billy" Tepper: That's right. That's it exactly. Jonathan "Snuffy" Bradberry: I was attempting to be sarcastic. William "Billy" Tepper: Well you shouldn't have been. You should have been writing it down. William "Billy" Tepper: They're going to shoot five kids if I don't go back. Military Officer: They're going to shoot you if you do go back. Luis Cali: You really have no sense of discipline, do you? Dean Parker: They're going to hunt you down, you know that, don't you? They'll eventually find you and then they will kill you. Luis Cali: You Americans always say that, but you never actually do it. William "Billy" Tepper: Jeez-Louise, Yogurt, you sound like we're trying to defuse a bomb or something. [after saving the school] William "Billy" Tepper: Does this mean I'm off pots and pans? Dean Parker: Oh no, you're not getting off that easy. Luis Cali: What? Not proud of your father? Joseph "Joey" Trotta: No. Luis Cali: We're letting you go. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: Why? Luis Cali: Because we respect your father. Joseph "Joey" Trotta: Fuck my father and fuck you too. I'm not going anywhere without my friends. Headmaster: Now this object I'm holding here is call... well some of you may have seen one before, it's called a book. You may have seen one on television. William "Billy" Tepper: You're fuckin' morons. You know that don't you? You're fuckin' morons. Ricardo Montoya: That's why we hang with you Billy. |
