Revealing mistakes: When Underdog is re-entering Earth's atmosphere he starts to burn up, when he crashes back to earth and Jack rushes to him and picks him up, you can clearly see it is a puppet. Continuity: As Underdog is digging to bury the bomb he sets it down to dig, but in the next scene he has it in his mouth while digging. Continuity: Dan Unger puts his coat on twice in the same scene. Continuity: The original sweater that Jack gives Underdog is knit with a stitched in "U". When Polly calls Underdog, we can see that his sweater is no longer knit, and the "U" has an orange outline and is not stitched to the sweater. Continuity: When Jack is speaking to his dad near the end of the movie, Underdog is listening from behind a wall. In the previous scene he was wearing his new collar, but when he is behind the wall the collar is missing. The next time we see him, the collar is back. DATE: Early in the movie, when the mailman is taunting Shoeshine, he is seen driving an older style jeep DJ5. All post offices now use a Grumman LLV which was put into service in 1987. Revealing mistakes: The dog that they use for barking at the mailman is obviously not the one that is used in (most) of the rest of the movie. If you look closely at the patterning around the face, you'll see that on the barking dog's left cheek, the brown mark doesn't touch the lip, whereas the "main" dog's brown mark does. Also the barking dog has a softer outline. |

[from trailer] Shoeshine Boy: Y'know, you never see dogs hurting each other for money. Jack: You never see people sniffing each other's butts. Shoeshine Boy: Touché. Shoeshine Boy: There's no need to worry, Underdog is furry! Riff Raff: Aaaah! I'm naked! Cad: [after Shoeshine Boy sneezes on Simon Barsinister's face] Oh, gross! Your mouth was open. Jack: It's time to teach you some manners. Shoeshine Boy: Right. I'm going to learn manners from a guy who pees in my white porcelain drinking bowl. Small Boy: Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird. Woman: It's a plane. Man: It's a frog. Crowd: A frog? Shoeshine Boy: It's not a bird, or a plane, or even frog. It's just little old me, Underdog. Shoeshine Boy: There's no need for fright. Underdog can bite. Dr. Simon Barsinister: [as Simon Barsinister approaches Shoeshine Boy with a hypodermic needle] Don't worry, little guy. It will only hurt... a lot! Shoeshine Boy: [starting to speak] Give the dog your food! Jack: Aaaaaaahhhhh! Shoeshine Boy: Aaaaaaahhhhh! Molly: You and your boss are not gonna get away with this! Cad: He's not my boss, we're partners! Molly: Well then, why are YOU doing this? Cad: Because my partner would fire me if I don't. Shoeshine Boy: He says he thinks they should see other people. She says... Wait people eat that too Dan Unger: Give him a chance. you might get to like him. Jack: I don't think so. All he does is eat, sleep, and poop! Dan Unger: Well then, the two of you have a lot in common. Shoeshine Boy: When I'm bored, I just chase my tail. If you're lucky, you throw up, and BINGO, lunch part two! Shoeshine Boy: [to Underdog] You're like Superman with a flea collar. Dr. Simon Barsinister: [to the German shepherds] Bad dog! Shoeshine Boy: There are no bad dogs, only bad owners! Shoeshine Boy: Destiny's a fumny thing. It'll creep up on you when you least expect it. |
