* BFA in Drama - New York University, Tisch School of the Arts (1986). * Attended Christian Brothers Academy (C.B.A., Albany, New York); an all boys, college-prep, Catholic/Military high school and graduated as an officer at the rank of Second Lieutenant. * His grandfather on his mother's side, James Mullany entered the United States through Ellis Island on the "SS Carmania" in 1923 from Claremorris, Ireland. He was originally from County Mayo, Ireland. * He has one older sister, Lori (b. 1962) and two younger brothers, Kevin (b. 1966) and Brian (b. 1970). A younger brother, David (b. 1964) died several days after birth due to complications of the heart. * His father, Guido was born in Guastameroli, Italy and fled to the United States on board the "SS Andrea Doria" through Ellis Island after the bombings of WWII. His mother, Julia was born and raised in Albany, New York.
